    Defender first time offroad video

Thanks! Insta360 OneX camera on the 'invisible' selfie stick and heavy duty bar clamp. Basically records all 360 degrees and then I export out what 16:9 section I want after the fact. The two lens overlap a bit to automatically stitch-out the selfie stick. ...This is youtube overview of the...

2020 Land Rover Defender is a Nightmare

Would be nice if the new defender park assist would leave room for others to open the tailgate ;-) Luckily my sides open easy enough to load groceries. Do new-defenders have that?

    Defender first time offroad video

Tried this trail a month ago and transmission spectacularly blew a gasket before I even got to any wheel spinning. Repaired and returned to the same trail for some redemption. No cheesy music, just TDI snorts and whistles: Unintentionally the 300tdi did 'roll-coal' on the Jeep 4xE a few...

    Installing a side case on a LR3/4

Land rover did sell a "commecial" discovery with a metal roof panel and some even metal rear quarter windows. Maybe there is a part numbers somewhere, but I have never seen them.

    LR3/4 Sway Bar disconnects

I removed my rear sway bay years ago and have never regretted it. Overall a little better flex from the rear sway bar removal, but reducing my 'lift' from +2" down to +1" made way bigger improvements in keeping all the wheels on the ground. Need to hire a new photog but you get the idea:

I'm not a gear head... would an LR3 be for me?

Fair enough - I should have put a big asterisk this. I offroad this truck 3-4 times per year, like this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ybZpRsejuQRzgpXc6 My "maintenance" includes 12 goodyear duratrac sidewall splits, 3 compressors, a few sets of control arms, 2 driveshafts, AND the typical 150k...

I'm not a gear head... would an LR3 be for me?

I agree that the purchase price is at best only 50% the cost of owning an LR3. This is about average for all my cars in the past 30 years. The cayenne (and other German brand cars) were the worst ever and the Tesla S best. The Toyotas in my history were all slightly better...

I'm not a gear head... would an LR3 be for me?

2007 HSE has every option (except HD also adds locking rear diff) 2007 SE can be any combination of a-la-carte options, and some almost as well equipped as HSE. Biggest difference is the HSE exclusively had better stereo. Almost everything else could be optioned on an SE Not sure if this is...

    New Defender News

I suspect >2" subframe lift might require new drive shafts. They mention in the video trying +3" sub-frame lift and +1" rods for the next build.

    SYA Kit Limiting Straps Binding

The stock air struts have bump stops AND prevent the wheels from over extending beyond the CVs max safe angle. The SYA drops the air struts bump stops are 2" lower; but the stock drop limit is also 2" beyond the CV design limit. The SYV straps prevent the wheels from dropping beyond the CV...
