Long Bed Pickups on Trails I had a '72 Ford F-250 (standard cab, 8' bed) for about 4 years and it worked great on the trails. 133" (I think) wheelbase, a big help on steep uphills and downhills. I wouldn't want to go much longer, though. My job during that time was doing GPS work on routes...

Edit: used a small wire to jump the connectors and hooked up the postive/negative leads to a battery I had in the garage... It works both out and in! Looks like I ended up with a functional (albeit cosmetically imperfect) unit. Cool! You scored big!

Nice score! You could probably hook it up to a battery and jumper across the controller plug terminals for a quick check.
