Bought the CC towards the end of August. Besides the normal Ram rebate of $3500? they said the rest of the incentive was from the factory to help move units that had been sitting on the lot for awhile and was good through the month of August. Sounds plausible but dealerships do have trouble with...
Looking at the Wilco Solo for my truck, if it will clear my built in folding steps when they are extended will probably get it. Cab/chassis don't have enough space between the frame rails for a spare.
The dual Alts is the one thing my truck did not come with, probably would be a good thing to have, really needed I don't know. If I was ordering a truck I would check the box on that option. $38K for that truck is not bad, does that include any rebates/incentives? The MSRP sticker on my truck...
I have only run this truck empty so far but it's sweet spot is around 65 mph. It's comfortable at 75 but fuel mileage starts going down. I've seen anywhere from 9mpg to 17mpg.
That's the one I saw at the Expo, pretty sure that pic is from the Expo. It got a lot of attention and might have helped them to decide that there was a market for flatbed campers, IIRC I believe the next year they had a Tacoma with a flatbed camper on it.
In my world (which has some flaws) the Aisin is worth the extra $$$ Especially if you plan to keep it a long time. I can't remember if the Aisin is available with taller axle ratios but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. The 2016 cab/chassis Hemi is detuned about 10%, I would assume for long...
FWC won't budge on custom work? I see a few custom builds out there...as you said, would be awfully nice to pick it up from AT.
They don't do much if any custom work now, they did some in the past though. Saw a flatbed at Overland Expo a few years ago and they said then that they were no...
Thanks Essiebessie. I was curious on how well it held the spare and how it cleared the cab over of the camper when rotating the spare from its stored position. If the spare had a cradle of some sort to sit in do you think that would help keep the spare from hitting the cab?
BTW I really like...
For what your wanting to do I don't think there will be a big difference except you would have a more off road capable truck. With a AT habitat it would be a sweet rig.
I had a 2005 PW and the 5.7 was adequate. Now have a 2016 Ram 4x4 non PW with a 6.4 Hemi and it definitely has more power than the 5.7. There were some changes made on 2014 models, one was axle ratios they are slightly taller on the 6.4 to help mpg's. Sounds like a decent price for a 2013 PW...
We have a similar heater in our 5th wheel that helps take the load off the main furnace, it works well but being ventless I don't use it while sleeping.
Copy away, that's pretty much what I'am doing there's already quite a few flatbed/popup's out there that are my inspiration. Mine will be a DD as well, been seeing between 9 to 16 mpg with just the flatbed actually gets good mpg's @ 65 mph. Thanks for subscribing to my thread hoping that others...
I agree with CCPAjeep on a 2500 truck, 3500 even better IMO. A 7' long flatbed popup shell would look good on a truck that came with a 6.5' truck bed. 8' would be to long with to much overhang and would look funny, just my humble opion.
I'am currently building a similar truck/camper adventure...
