1/2 ton just isn't enough truck for what you want to do IMO. Once you load the Eco-Diesel down the mileage/power may not be as great as you hope either if it is anything like a V-6 gasser like say a Tacoma. If you go with a 3/4 ton may as well go all the way to a 1 ton.
I went from a 4x4 van to...
2 Honda 2000i generators, 1 is the standard invertor type and the other is the "companion" type. Comes with the cable to connect the two together and the 30 amp adaptor. Both have about 50 hours use on them, barely broken in and oil changed once in both. Slight rub marks/scratches on the plastic...
RTT HAS BEEN SOLD
Sold the FJ Cruiser last week that this was mounted on and going to a popup camper so our beloved Maggiolina Air Top needs a new home.
It has about 200 nights use and does show some wear and tear. A couple of the screens have holes/tears and there are a few small holes in the...
Me too! I might start a thread in the pop up camper section for the camper build portion so people interested in pop up campers will be more likely to see it. Then once the camper is installed on the truck fold it back into this thread.
I'am in the process right now of doing what your describing basically. Have been running a FJ Cruiser with a RTT and other mods for the last 9 years, but at 61 years and counting the RTT has lost it's appeal for the wife and me. This set up has served us well but it's time for us to move on...
We just ordered a Bundutec pop up camper with a Domectic 12v door style fridge. Would have liked to had a chest type fridge instead but it came down to available real estate for the fridge, to have the chest fridge would have meant something else had to be eliminated. Not to worried about losing...
I currently have a ARB 50qt. that is about 8 years old and was from the first container load of the new style ARB's to come to the USofA. It has run almost 24/7 since the day it came out of the box and has proven to be very reliable. I'm needing a larger fridge with a dual zone feature and since...
Have a 50qt. ARB in the FJC and when I use my brother's teardrop I have a 2nd ARB 50qt. which can come in very handy. Although I have been completely happy with the ARB's my next fridge will most likely be a National Luna Twin Zone.
I have been using a Bad Bags duffel for about 7 years and it has held up very well, only the bad bags label is falling apart. Never have used the sea to summit duffel but have one of their drybags and it is holding up just fine as well, I'am sure either one will get the job done for you.
