Maybe get a JK instead of the JL, sounds like there is some bad weld issues with the JL. Save some $$$ that could cover the Sport/Rubi price difference.
Thanks Jason. Still here at the Canyon, probably be here for another 3 to 5 years until I retire. Hadn't seen you here on the Forum for awhile, still have the FJ and in Texas?

Has to do with the truck registration cost, if the truck weighs under 10K the cost for a business to register it goes way down. The truck is capable of hauling more than it is rated at. Other things a lot of people don't take into consideration is the axles and spring pack ratings of a...
If your not runnin for some public office you should be OK.....
Hear you guys on back injuries, getting old and clutches. Back in '86 I was in a head-on collision hit by a woman driving while having a epileptic seizure and ended up with a back injury that has caused me problems off and on ever...
Last August was the 2 year anniversary of our 2016 Ram, it had a tick over 22K on the clock. For most of the 2nd year the truck has been hauling our Bundutec camper every where we go, since I have no intention of ever removing the camper off the truck. This of course effects the fuel mileage...
This October marks the first year of ownership of the Bundutec. Due to work schedules for my wife and me that have not allowed us to have as many days off together as we would have liked we have not gotten out enough in our camper this year. What time we have had to use it has been great, the...
I use a campchef single burner with a grill box. Breaks down to a fairly small size, cooks meat well and can boil water or fry bacon in a pan as well so it's versatile. Spent about $150 on it at Sportsman wherehouse, it's about the same price on Amazon.
I enjoyed the 8 years we had our RTT's and traveled all over Utah and Colorado with it on top of our FJ Cruiser. Did quite a few hard trails with it and always stayed warm and dry in some pretty crappy weather, a ground tent would not have worked for me.
Unfortunately for us we got to the age...
Bought a new 2005 in the flame red color a real looker for sure, the first one at the Grand Junction Ram dealer and possibly the western slope. Had it for about 3 years and put on about 35K miles before life changes made need for a vehicle change. The only issue I had with it besides poor mpg...
I will group a few other trips together since there is not all that much to report about. The trip to the Expo was uneventful and since it is only a hour and a half away from home not even much of a road trip more like one of our biweekly trip to Flagstaff or Prescott to get groceries. I met up...
It was a bit windy, kinda normal for spring. We started seeing some rain finally this AM but it has not rained that hard yet, there are flash flood warnings in effect thru Wednesday.
Between crappy internet service here at the Canyon and just being super busy at work I've neglected this thread for far to long, due to a small work injury yesterday I've been placed on a 3 day injured reserve status so time to catch up.
Before the Expo we did a 2 day trip over to the North Rim...
Forget the class C. I would find the smallest slide in camper in either a hardside (Lance) or popup (Northstar) mod the suspension and get tires that will handle the weight and call it good.
No doubt the So-Cal's are well made and will last a long time as they should since they are not giving them away. I helped my brother purchase one a few years ago and they were great to work with. Also used it quite a bit and can attest to it's quality and it towed very nice behind my FJ...
