I used my Droid II on a recent 3 day trip and was very happy with the quality of the pics and since I already carry it anyway it makes sense to use it.
Great link Chip, thanks
For a number of years I have been running an Acer 10in screen netbook that is running Windows XP.
Software is a combo of Delorme Topo 9 and Oziexplorer.
I use Franson GPSgate to split the usb GPS signal into more than 1 virtal port so both programs can run at the same time.
For GPS I run a...
Jeff no worries on the quality of the pics, they are great and the words really bring a feeling of being on the trip with you.
Great job and I am looking forward to reading every bit of it.
does is stow well also, not sure I want to "stew" it :)
Just picking on you Dave.
Watch for an order from me tomorrow as I think it will really beat the messenger bag I have been trying to use
Link to a very cool article in the May 1970 issue of Popular Science comparing the Suburban, Wagoneer & IH Travelall

just as a heads up my work server sometime hassles me about jumping forums (or maybe it was ad on that forum or something) so it would help if you could post the full report here also.
Thanks
I am soooo wanting to read more of this...forget that work thing and get this thread done :)
Glad you had a good time and glad to made it home safe & sound.
Great trip report and I like the use of all our gear & rigs to actually do good work.
Very cool stuff you guys are up to and even better to get to share it with friends.
Also nice to see Chris in pics and pics by Chris :)
It really is scary how much it looks like a Waeco....I know they said it isn't but the Chinese are well known to make reverse engineered products. I would be interested to hear/see some side by side pics/comparison with a Waeco and hear from Intel B more about why it is so close in...
Hey Bill, yes it does need some work from you on the back for sure...would you be able to make use of that hoist for anything around the shop? I already got it out (pics soon) and am saving it for you.
Howdy Larry, I like when I logged on to 67-72chevy (after many years away) and saw your...
Yeah I am having a tough time finding a decent price on the Coopers here in Phx..tough time finding the Coopers at all :)
I am leaning towards the TreadWrights just due to how much cheaper they are...but would have to go with something OTHER than 255/85/16
Oh and my Discount Tire will price...
Yes it is a factory 3 door...and if you look closely at the pics you will see..
1 door for the driver
2 doors on the passenger side
and they called the rear bits the hatch/tailgate
The big idea at the time from Chevy was that is was "safer" for your passengers if they could not exit into...
And since we had a bit of sunlight left I had a chance to play with some of the cooler features of my new to me wheeling machine.
One of these was the "Combustables Deployment Device"....because you are not camping in style if you have to unload firewood with your bare hands. Oh no it is only...
Swansea is a big site and a great place to bring a family to spend a few hours. It is very safe with large metal grates over the mine shafts and enough room to not feel that you are crowded if other folks show up at the same time.
And the greatest thing of all for us was some killer...
Here is a pic of what Swansea looked like in 1920 from Wikipedia
BLM has done a really great job of making this a place that folks can visit in a regular ol' car (from the Parker side, not our way in) and learn/see a ton. There is a gravel road that goes around the site and plenty of signs to...
But as always the need to travel on grew stronger in me and there was also the concern over the depth of the water crossing on the Bill Williams River.
Now again I am in an unproven, fairly unknown to me rig and the guys in the side by sides tell me the water is 2-3 ft deep...well that is more...
Now lest you forget....I am on Day #2 of a backcountry trip in a rig I only spent 30min or so driving and another 30min crawling around before hitting the dirt. The tires feel out of balance, the transfer case is a bit hard to shift but getting easier and it seems to be a solid rig. Hey it is...
McCracken Mine itself is an open horizontal tunnel that goes in farther than Lacy the dog and I wanted to go...something primal in me states clearly to keep the light in sight. Waymon on the other hand was happy to go much farther exploring and he made it back out safely. Very cool place and it...
