Utah - Comb Wash, Bluff, Edge of the Cedars Museum

I really need to spend more time in Utah, these trip reports always make me start looking at the calendar for the next school break to drag the family north. Thanks for posting and for getting the kids out there, it would be great to be a fly on the wall as they tell their schoolmates about...

I second the motion to say please write for the sake of your kids & grandkids down the road. It is amazing how many little things...

Shachagra- Family of 5 traveles Europe and Turkey, International 7500

WOW I am so impressed by the fact that you actually did what so many of us only dream about. And to have built it yourself (with family & friends) really teaches the youth of today that anything is possible. I can only imagine the behind the scene stories and laughs you guys must share as a...

National SImplex Monitoring Team - An interesting proposal

I like the idea of keeping the radio on 146.520 when just cruising around solo. And I will try to give a call now and then. Around town I monitor some of the more active repeaters, not much for chatting as it is usually antenna/radio related and I am a ham USER vs a hobbyist, it is a tool for me...

Glamis Sand Dunes in a Jeep XJ Cherokee *PIC HEAVY*

great pics! some of the ones with little to know other vehicle tracks really give a sense of isolation and remoteness, would be easy to think you were in Africa. Sounds like you had a really good time and looks like there weren't that many other people there, also good to hear the XJ did so...

Searching for the "just right" size for an overlanding vehicle

I agree HUBB is an amazing resource, and while it does have a small 4x4 section it is really a moto forum. Now of course I still surf it very regularly as there is alot a 4wd can learn from the moto world and some of the gear translates across. I will agree that HUBB and Advider has a much...

Expedition vehicle - how did you decided on yours

I had an FJ Cruiser, loved it myself but the backseat was no good for the kids, hey even the dog didn't like it back there. Plus not enough GVW. Moved up to a Sportsmobile based on a Ford E350 van. Killer platform until I took it through too deep a water crossing toasted the motor/interior...

    Half the White Rim Trail

Amazing pics.. I was on that trip with Larry and after looking at your pics I don't want to see my own :) You really captured the look & feel. My wife wants to go now after looking over your pics & report...yet mine didn't inspire her near as much :) Now if they would just get the trail open so...

Chicago to Prescott - with a few nice stops in between.

Score one for a simple rig that the owner knows how to work on! Amazing what could have gone way way wrong if someone with lesser knowledge or ability had been driving. Welcome to Az and I hope it only gets better going forward!

    Land Cruiser shower setup.

I really like your setup. Now if I could only find the water mixer valve/outlet that Sportsmobile West uses I could put together a trick setup. Thanks for the writeup and the numbers

Mountain biking El Camino Del Diablo.

great write up Tim Having done the Camino myself a few times I am impressed on many levels that you did it on a bike. I am sure you really got the sense of isolation and enjoyed the desert more intensely than from a vehicle. Wow dude another killer trip report, thanks for letting us come along...

'91 Land Cruiser Diesel Automatic Japanese Import -> Good buy for ~1yr SA Trip?

In Central and South America there is no need for a second spare. I have traveled plenty there and you are never very far from help (unlike Africa or the Simpson desert). On board air like the Extreme Outback setup along with their tire repair kit is all you need. But I would but the single...

'91 Land Cruiser Diesel Automatic Japanese Import -> Good buy for ~1yr SA Trip?

I personally think it is a good price... but more importantly what do YOU think of the vehicle? This is something you will be LIVING with, day in & day out, you better like it or you will grow to hate it :) Easy to get in & out of? Enough room for your stuff? Does the sound & smell of a diesel...

A little help, please indulge me. Icom 2800 replacement

I used to be into the idea of APRS but with no one else on the trail with me (so we can see each other on the laptops) then my SPOT works much better for letting others see where I am at. I would like the dual rec on the same band so I can have the simplex & repeater running at the same time...

SEMA 2011: Official Thread with Pics, Pics, Pics

shame the Action Camper didn't make it to SEMA as I think it would have really made an impression. It really puts us into play with alot of what you see in Europe, very cool stuff there I agree with Todd that at least things are growing and that helps us all
