Sounds like an awesome setup, Mark! That's a beefy and luxurious trailer. So your setup now has a trans cooler in the radiator and two externals? Previous tire size was 315?

It's a beautiful area that does get too much traffic these days, but yes, it's a lot less likely traveled compared to a lot of places in AZ. And you're right - it's a mess when it gets wet. I have lots of stories from crazy experiences in the mud in that area :).
Glad you enjoyed your time in...
Sounds like you went through Railroad Canyon, which was part of the Parker 400 race course up until about the mid '90s. Always love to read your reports! Thanks for sharing.

Just so you know - those articles by Rick Sieman about you and Big Oly II were very instrumental for me in my formative years and they gave me the majority of the info I knew of regarding race vehicle fab in my late high school/early college years. Still have most of the magazines in my...
We used to do "Old Iron" runs with folks from Expo - often led by Mikey from Kingman. Lance and Nick would bring out their Subs, etc. Would love to do more of that but I'm chained to the couch until at least mid-summer this year with another project. The Bronco and I are definitely both...
Great trip report, Tim! I read it on your blog too, but for some reason it's still a lot more fun to read this stuff on forum posts. I've only spent one camping trip in the Kofas but I'd like to go back.
And not to hijack the thread but I came across this old photo of DGarman the other day...
I agree - great find! Bookmarked for future reference. I use a lot of this stuff already at work (satellite construction) and also on off-road racing vehicles and my own off road toys, but this is a nice compilation of so many different topics.

Outside of southern CA, we are blessed with probably the largest number of fab companies in the U.S. Lots of off road racers based here plus an ever-exploding four wheeling/off road/UTV population keeps a lot of places busy. "Back in the day", many of us 'knew everyone' in the off road world...
Another good option is Paul at Bent Fab. bentfabaz.com. Does a lot for the rockcrawling community but a lot for us more expedition/exploring types. He's in north Phoenix just off the 17 at Deer Valley Rd.

Steve: I assume you know that Ramsey passed away unexpectedly from a massive heart attack last year. Coming on here and questioning the truthfulness of an email from a person who has been deceased for over a year now is a bit odd. I'd suggest contacting Agile (which is still in business and...
When I saw the Colorado concept in the GM booth, things all started clicking for me. Word on the street is that Fiat is playing hardball with the JL and not releasing info early to the aftermarket to develop suspension kits and other accessories to be ready when the vehicle is launched like...
They had some 2.5" diameter Bilstein bypass shocks on display in the booth so I'm guessing they'll offer them as some sort of upfitting option in the future, perhaps part of the 'high capacity' system you mention?

Sure looks sexy, Larry! I'm always envious of how clean your rigs are, considering that they really get used! I recognize the ORD upper mounts on your rear Bils. I don't often go to their website as it doesn't get updated often but noticed the addition of those a few weeks ago.
Glad to...
