Overland Expo 2015 to Utah Lockhart and more....

Thanks for the info on the car. I should have known the pushbuttons for the automatic would be on the left hand side. At least I got the make right :). I'll second my appreciation for Lance's photo skills. Having traveled with him for more than a week last month, I was thankful that he had...

Overland Expo 2015 to Utah Lockhart and more....

Great report and photos, Lance!! Keep 'em coming - stuff like this is the best of ExPo. I believe that car is a late 50s Chrysler product and if I'm not mistaken, that panel to the right of the steering column housed the buttons for the pushbutton automatic transmission. I'm really curious...

    Overland Expo West 2015

Thanks for the pic - that's enough to identify it. That's Rod's prerunner from the late 80s - now owned by Chrysler. I'm not sure how much it was actually used as a prerunner. Chrysler had it on display at SEMA in the early 2000s which is where I last saw it. Glad to see it's still around...

    BRAKE CALIPER OPTIONS

I think the Dynatrac kit looks to be a great option to gain more braking torque with minimal work required for installation (you don't have to crack the hydraulics open!). Todd Z.

    Overland Expo West 2015

Here's Lance's build thread on his Suburban: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/70072-70-C-20-4x4-Suburban-Father-Son-project/page35 And if you post a picture of that Dodge truck, we may know of its Baja pedigree. Todd Z.

    Turtle Expedition Trans-Eurasian Odyssey

With the exception of a few articles in OJ since its inception, I've seen very few, if any articles, in the US 4WD magazines by Gary and Monika in the past 15-20? years. Todd Z.

    1969 Ford Bronco illustration

Actually, I need to correct myself -73-76. 77 has doors over the gas caps. I am the co-owner of the Bronco in my avatar. It's a neat rig with some incredible history. In fact, there are two photos of it in the "Legends of Baja" currently on the forum masthead. Todd Z.

    1969 Ford Bronco illustration

Beautiful illustration! As a historian, I'll note that the vehicle pictured appears to be more of the 73-77 vintage with the Ranger package coloring and stripe patterns along with the high-mounted side marker lights. Todd Z.

    Copperstate Off Road Rally

It's definitely for folks in a different tax bracket than I. And I'm sure they will be driving on nice graded dirt roads throughout the state. I'd guess it would draw some of the same folks that participate in the Copperstate 1000 that might have a nice FJ, early Bronco, Rover, Suburban, etc...

    Copperstate Off Road Rally

When I first read this, I thought it was an April Fools' Joke: http://blog.classiccars.com/copperstate-1000-launching-vintage-off-road-rally/ I was assured later that it was not. Looks like it could be an interesting adventure although the price tag is a bit steep for most. I enjoy checking...

Found a kit to run factory 14-bolt disk from newer truck on older 14-bolt w/ drums

Looks like a good base for the conversion. As you all have discovered, the Cadillac Eldorado calipers are poorly designed and don't work well. The drum-in-hat e-brakes work pretty well by comparison. Todd Z.
