The way my research is going, it seems that the Tremor for around ~$85k & the RAM 3500 Tradesman with AEV Prospector Package for ~$90k are the top contenders. It's just insane how I went from trying to keep it under 60k in the Tundra, to now considering these insane prices. All of this...
There must be some quirk bcs AluCab is being very explicit about it.
Yep, just confirmed by Outfitter.
But another REAL wrinkle emerges: The Alu Cabin door wont support a 37" tire. So I will have to figure out a system that works with bike rack......In a cursory look found this, so I have...
AluCabin not available yet. Sadly.
And a new wrinkle, for the RAM. It's yet to be confirmed that the Alu-Cabin fits 2023/2024 models. Hoping its just outdated.
A couple of questions:
- What did AEV think/suggested regarding the Automatic-Leveling Rear Air Suspension. Was that a good idea?
- Did you deal with the dealer and AEV separately?
Thanks a lot!
The 3500 Tradesman Crew Cab 4x4 6.4 Box with:
- High Output Diesel
- Electronic Shift On the fly transfer Case
- Engine Block Heater
- Convenient Group
- Aux Switches
I think I'm missing: Led lights, Power Seats.
Leaving some room for the AEV charge.
I can't justify 3 more inches of tires......im already overextending with the AEV package.
I do love the idea of the bed, a LOT, but I think it adds another 20-25k
Yes, Payload is around 1800.
We are light people, the but say we invite 2 175lbs friends. Thats just 700lbs in people. Alucab alone is 500. Water, skid plates, rocksliders, bigger tires.........I just don't see how you stay even at 2000 with 4 adults.
Do you have a link?. I was looking at...
Interesting, is there any merit in that approach?. I will do some research. But perhaps this is just me trying to grasp to anything to stay with Toyota.
Can you please elaborate?. Is your calculation exhaustive? Do you have goose gear?. How about the vehicle add ons? (tires, skidplates, rocksliders). Do you see something unreasonable in my spreadsheet?. Thanks a lot
This would be a desperate last resort measure. I hope I don't have to go there.
Perhaps not, at least not initially. But it'll be nice knowing I have the package I need and wont be limited in my journeys. I live in Colorado and have a plethora of crazy roads for exploration. It becomes a cost...
Scott Brady had an article talking about this exact line up, Here are the highlights:
Reliability: There are no good objective measures, but Toyota seems to have the lead and no major differences among the other brands.
Usually, the more capable the off-roading package, the worse the payload...
I had a useful thread exploring the idea of a lift + suspension upgrades for an Alu-Cabin build. Upon further examination of payload, It seems that the Tundra (Max Payload ~1800) would be near or below our payload needs. it would be fairly restrictive, specially when inviting someone for...
