Premium & High End Ice Chests & Coolers Reviews

Another thing people fail to factor in is the cost of goods outside of the USA (or how much stuff varies state to state I am sure) like the cost of ice guys are quoting here blows my mind. 5lb bag of ice is 3-5$ depending where you are, and almost no grocery stores carry block ice. Sure I have...

    Why so few GM Builds?

The conversation the comment was pulled from was specifically referring to late 90s early 2000s platform Blazer.

Rear Suspension Upgrade for a Ford F-150 with tons of gear...Should I invest in 2.5" shocks?

I went with i think was 5165 rear resi bilstiens. Mind you im mostly on road. I put them on because I have Decked, a topper, and was running 1000lbs of weight outside the drawer and topper every day for years while my truck was my dedicated work truck. (guess who planned to write off the...

    The 255/85R16 Tire Official List

I was quoted more for the Toyos in 255/80R17 than the BFG KO2 in 34x10.5R17 locally. I can't recall but I believe the ST maxx in the 80 series was more than the BFG as well. Were i going to run two sets of wheels I'd probably have given the ST MAXX a go, but i kind of need a four season tire...

    inexpensive 12v tire inflator

Few articles mention going to 45 or 65 or 80 PSI. I run 45ish street. And I dont need any more help spending even more money than intended on a compressor thank you! Lol.

    Why so few GM Builds?

If the Crosstrek wasn't so woefully under powered, it would have made the short list for my wife. The old Outback Sports based on the Imprezza had a better power to weight ratio. I had one briefly. Fun to drive. A key point brought up for less GMs being used for overland/off road is: Rust. And...

    Ford 8.8 rear traction aid

Just wondering if anyone here is running a 2013-14 Ford 8.8 rear end and has installed a non OEM limited slip(clutch or helical), or locker. If so, what did you install, and how has it performed both on street and on road? I think in 2012 or 13 they changed the pinion bearing size, so many...

Very helpful. The Viair 400p is in the budget range... but at the same time the ARB looks like it works everywhere/when you need it.

    The 255/85R16 Tire Official List

In Canada the Toyo AT2 is listed (or was recently anyways) in LT255/80R17. The tire shop i was dealing with said "they aren't showing as available right now" and that was the end of that, or i would have gone with those. Instead I ended up with 34x10.5R17 BFG Ko2, and prior to that I was...

    inexpensive 12v tire inflator

The Viair 400p seems reasonable and reasonably priced. However their product page lists the factory hose as not recommended to be used below freezing. Can the compressors themselves be used with its -15C/5F? Snow is pretty common, as are those temperatures around where I travel. My truck has...

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Hot damn! I look forward to what you might come up with. I can probably piece together our OSB and caulk job for another year or two. Have resulted to looking at cargo trailer conversions with singular tip out bunk, since can get those with aluminium framing at least, and no TPO or EPDM roofing...

    Cargo Craft Offroad Trailers

http://www.lightningtrailers.com/Specialty Not sure If I personally want a V nose in this case, but I had a 5x10 lightning for a few years as my work trailer. Really could have used a suspension with shocks because it bounced around, but the frame is full aluminum tube.

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Couple years ago in the start of this thread, somebody asked about interest in something built with similar technology and level of craftsmanship, but a larger, base camp version. Any more thought go into designing something along those lines? What my wife and I want doesn't exist. If we get...

    Cargo Craft Offroad Trailers

Are any guys doing builds like this putting tip out bunk on one side of trailer? Would give more living space, not have to climb onto roof top tent. Allow you to still keep a narrower trailer like 6' wide. It is an option with some of the cargo trailer manufacturers.

Too bad the Discover is no more. It was the closest thing fitting the bill available "off the lot" for us. Back to searching I guess. Until I am rich enough to get something custom made somewhere.

Is there something between a teardrop and a regular caravan?

The Mantis from Taxa Outdoors seems to be something in the middle. Not quite what we want, but also a lot larger than a lot of people want. Frankly we want something a bit smaller than an R-POD, but same width, and with a tip out bunk. Ideally the tip out bunk means we dont need shore power or...

    Black Series HQ19

There doesn't seem to be an internal living trailer with a flip out bunk (ie, dont need the dinette as main bed) in a trailer that isnt built of sticks and staples and glue, in the 14-16' range, somewhere around 6-7" wide (ideally 6-6.5). Im not seeing aussie ones (they tend towards non flip...

anyone using a F150 supercab with 8 foot box?

Thats a long beast. I usually see them for fleet trucks. The payload is nice. Depends on how off road you want to get, the wheelbase is murder, and you can't turn worth a damn. But if you are using it to transport yourself to a more base camp sort of setting with quad or dirt bikes or bicycles...
