Thinking back, I installed the OME add a leaf and then I got rid of one of the lower overload springs. I did this to get more travel/better ride unloaded. The springs did hold the camper with the springs alone (in the driveway) but it say low in back and would likely have bottomed out a lot...
Tacoma and four wheel camper that weighed in over 1300lbs.
The best solution was custom rear leaf springs. Deaver style spring with 10 smaller leafs. Best ride hands down if you're carrying the camper full time.
I also tried old man emu HD springs, with an add a leaf, and taller/softer...
This is how I powered my tacoma and four wheel camper. Blue sea 7622, 300 watts on solar through an mppt controller. The only time I ever got to 50% charge was after being completely shaded for several days, no driving, running fridge and fan all day in hot weather and furnace at night to keep...
I don't believe it makes any difference either way unless you're significantly reducing your wiring runs. I guess technically my truck and camper were setup that way but it had nothing to do with a special controller. I had the "house" batteries under the back seat of the truck. I mounted...
I'm surprised someone like Chris hasn't got together with AFE or someone to make a complete y pipe. Guess it would be spendy to sell it with a couple high flow cats though.
I wonder if it will throw a code if you remove both rear cats. Looks like there are sensor bungs upstream and...
I know this comes up a lot, but Ill be paying close attention. We've had two vehicles totaled (both my wife's, shocking) and despite my agents advice to keep all of my receipts, it doesn't work out well for me.
It's not unusual for me to have 20k or more in mods on my trucks, but my van will...
I have a 2011 extended body cargo van. Since it is now insulated, it works fine to cool the second row of captains chairs. If the van has been sitting outside all day in 90+ degree heat and its thoroughly heat soaked, it will take a while to cool down of course. When it's very hot, I aim one...
I unbolted the steering column ( 4 bolts) and let it down a bit to pull the dash bezel off. The crappy part is that all of the electrical switches and buttons have very short leads (at least on mine) so it's kind of a pain.
I don't recall everything I took off. Somewhere I should have crutch...
lol
All other issues aside, I love the space of the CCV tops. But I wouldn't buy from him.
Sportsmobile sure isn't perfect either. I put a deposit down on a sportmobile top, because my wife and I are impatient. Otherwise I'd wait until a certain someone here *cough cough* gets his design...
Unfortunately the wall is cutout for the jack. However there are panels for both sliding door and side barn doors, so there is some extra material. Obviously it wouldn't look great to stack it on top. It is all cut to fit, not oversized. Most of the time I would be more picky but I just...
I've made two orders of thinsulate from Hein here as well. Both arrived next day.
My roof has 400 thinsulate, reflectix, then the pro van liner (fiberboard and carpeting). HUGE difference in heat transmission. Uncovered panels will burn your fingers in 2-3 seconds in the sun while the...
