If you have not found a solution for the rough idle you should get an oil additive called Archoil.. Designed specifically for powerstrokes with hard start, rough idle etc..
edit: this just popped up today...
Yea I agree! I wouldnt really care about the mileage if all the work has been done like the ad says. Hell of a good starting point! If i didnt alreay have one i would buy it for sure!
@Raul yeah thats why i didnt mount it on the roof rack as i felt like the glare over the windshield would be a problem. I was super happy with the way it turned out both in looks and performance.
Installed a 52" light bar on the van yesterday then went out Exploring on Mauna Loa. I was going to put the light bar on the roof rack but i think it looks much on the bumper. Took the van up to about 10k and hiked up to 12k. I was trying to get to the snow but got a late start and didnt want...
Built a solar shower out of black PVC today. Added an inflation valve to be able to add a little pressure. I think its gonna work out nice! 11ft of 4inch pipe should give me about 7.1 gal if i did my MATH correctly...
Bought one of the cheap ladders on Amazon, painted black and added some grip tape to the steps and bumper. Came out pretty good i think... Also painted one of the mounting bracket for the rack, trying to decide if i will paint them all or not.
Cheap easy bed set up so I could take it out easy and store specific boxes underneath, but its also high enough for someone to sleep under. Installed a new 4x4 shifter boot, the old one was tattered....
Bought and installed a custom built all aluminum rack today. It sits up high but is solid as a rock, not to mention huge! For 300$ i couldnt pass it up!
@ruski Thanks! I have done it before but I used a little different method this time to ensure a good stick! First I sanded with some steel wool then washed with a heavy de-greaser, followed by some brake clean to take off the rest of the dirt grime etc. For paint I first used rust oleum self...
@billiebob glad to share some info! Come on out and visit and you can go to the top..... if the protests ever stop! Mauna Kea and Mauna loa combined dent the earths crust by 4 miles! It really is an amazing place! thanks for checking out my latest build.
Today I painted the wheels to match the grill and bumpers...
Still not sure I love the lighter color, im thinking of going carolina blue or maybe the "get hammered" similar to the last pic
Today I painted the front and rear bumper matte Black.... I wanted the asthetic to match the monsta liner better than the chrome.
I also installed a swivel seat base from sportsmobile.
The area behind the front seats will be the "living area" with the second row bench serving as a couch.
A pic from the top of Mauna Kea about 14k ft
Here is the finished product from the Monstaliner install yesterday. I think the van looks a lot better but im not sure I am happy with the color being so light.
I am considering adding some color or painting again?
