Corey's 2007 FJ Cruiser built for expedtion/overland, & daily driver

I've been sportin a Halguard unit for the last 3+years. Great little fire extinguisher, not cheap though and glad I haven't needed it yet!

RTT vs Ground Tent to outfit your Expedition Trailer

Having owned both ground tents and RTT's (currently have a Ezi-Awn), 2 things come to mind why I like RTT's over ground tents: 1st is in heavy rain, I stay dry where in a ground tent stuff inside always ends up getting wet, 2nd I find that a RTT stays much cleaner longer than a ground tent. I...

Corey's 2007 FJ Cruiser built for expedtion/overland, & daily driver

Looks like it should help you with better space management Corey, with FJ's you need every cubic inch you can get. So is the biggest difference between the old rack and this one is there is only molle mounts on one half of it?

    Cabrito's 2011 FJ Cruiser - NSSE

:wings: Looks like it could be one of the rare NSSE model, more info can be found on the FJCruiser forum.

HD Trasharoo - A possibility? You tell us.

Yes to a HD Trasharoo. I currently carry my PETT toilet in the trasharoo as well as our trash and what ever we find left behind by people . I would also like to carry our tent that we use for the PETT in it as well but the current trasharoo would sag to much with that much weight in it and...

    Time for new tires

I replaced my 265/75-16 BFG KO's which were OEM tire on the FJ Cruiser with 255/85 KM2's and I'am happy with them. Offroad performance is better in all situations and on road is almost as good except in snow/ice conditions where the KM2's are scary at best, I now have a 2nd set of Big O AT's...

Need to replace my sleeping bag

I have a couple of Wiggys that have worked out very well so far, bought about a year and a half ago and have 50+ nights use. Well made, easy to clean, made in the USA if thats important to you and they offered a local/walk-in discount of 40% IIRC when I bought mine. Have a 30 and 0 degree...

Can you help me identify/find this bike?

Most likely a one off custom made bike, using a old engine and modern parts (inverted forks, disc brakes, etc.). Definately a XS 650 engine (4 stroke), not a RD (2 stroke), which Yamaha made for over 20 years, the engine in the picture appears to be a early version since it has a kickstarter on...

Campchef Sherpa Camp Table And Organizer

I think it will be worth taking a look at it when it shows up at the stores. I agree the pouch for the table top could be a issue.

SoCal Teardrops Krawler 459 - Enhancements

They are OME's. Also that last pic on last post is the inside of our Krawler or one just like it. As far as durability goes, wood can be very strong if it is constructed properly "glued and screwed" is the the way to do it. Most of the wood framed RV trailers out there are just stapled...

    AT Horizon Towability

I towed a Horizon behind my FJ Cruiser for about a year, for the most part it towed well. It had a slight sway in it that I think is do to its short hitch to axle distance, which was good for off road travel, also makes it sensative to input when backing up. The FJ is rated to tow 5K lbs., don't...

Not very expo, but figured you guys would be entertained...

Cute, but... I wonder how well it will do in high (low?) winds in S.E. Utah in the spring?

SoCal Teardrops Krawler 459 - Enhancements

Nice upgrades Dave, I should of had the underfloor storage installed when I ordered the trailer (had to stop ordering options at some point!), good to know it can be retrofitted. Glad I went with So-Cals custom load bars instead of the Thule/Yakima, there not cheap but sure are robust, will...

    Partner Steel 18" or 22"?

I have a 18" PS and a FJ Cruiser. I have not desired a larger stove, but I don't cook for large groups either. For me the 18" was the best size for the FJ (as stated previously space/weight is always a concern with the FJ), the 22" would not have fit in the space I had for the stove. Also get...

    So-Cal 459 Krawler Tear Drop

In my rush to get stuff done, I forgot to pack the camera. But it did happen, sometimes a vivid imagination helps. Dave, the awning/additional room sounds interesting. Also whats up with the bags you are going to make for the galley, are they available yet?

    So-Cal 459 Krawler Tear Drop

Won't be needing a cabin with the tear drop. Actually my uncle has a cabin close by yours that he has for sale, also I work a part time job with the Frosts who own the RV park. Thanks for posting up the pics Gabe, I just didn't have time to take pics let alone post them before heading out for...

    So-Cal 459 Krawler Tear Drop

It will see a lot of Colorado, Utah and a possible Arizona Strip trip in October if things work out. The So-Cal guys are great IMO, she's a beautiful tear drop and is going to look awesome behind the FJ Cruiser. The quality of the build is first class and everything works just like it's...
