    MOAB Fort

With 19" high side walls, I don't think the average fridge will clear especially if mounted on a slide which it will need to be to access it. Sierra 4x4 trailers is going to a slightly higher side wall height just for this reason.

    Comfort of a RTT mattress!

I currently have a Ezi-Awn 1400 series 3 rtt and find sometimes I wake up wishing it had a more comfy mattress and other times it's just fine, usally the 2nd or 3rd night is better than the 1st. Also owned a EA Globetrotter which had a thicker mattress and It was very comfortable, don't recall...

Question about CampChef propane fire rind

I should have put more info in my statement, I could not see a good reason to carry the extra weight of the lava rock when most campsites I go to provide usable rock if I need them. The campchef is actually my 2nd portable campfire I have owned, My 1st one was a little smaller and made of...

Question about CampChef propane fire rind

Picked one up at Sportsmans Wharehouse for $70.00 (Cabelas had it on sale for $90.00). It works well, we used up about half a 20lb tank using it 2 nights and 2 mornings-about 5 hours run time. Should be no reason that a smaller tank wouldn't work, I plan on using a 10lb tank for overnite camping...

    So Cal Teardrops

As I get older my ability to be patient gets better, but I would be lying if I said the day to pu the Krawler can't come soon enough! I'am pretty sure we will love it as well, we had a homebuilt TD a couple years ago, we liked the basic idea of the TD, but it was a on-road TD mostly (ie low...

    So, I'm thinking FJ

I might go as far as to say those "lame 1/4 doors are quite brilliant really" As for the "poor approach angle" up until this year I have been running mostly a stock FJ and never had a problem with the approach angle and although I don't do really extreme rockcrawling, I do go to Moab, Ouray...

    So, I'm thinking FJ

I looked seriously at the Tacoma but went with the FJ instead ('08 Trail Teams) and don't regret my decision at all. For me the only advantage the Tacoma had over the FJ was its load carrying capacity. I'am short at 6'0" but the FJ was roomier than the Taco and I still have a couple of notches...

    So Cal Teardrops

I was disapointed on the kits not being offered anymore but understand the reasons why also. Being able to save a few thousand dollars in this economy would be nice, but being able to use it as soon as I pick it up is nice also, it would have been the end of this year before I would have it...

    So Cal Teardrops

They are no longer offering the U-build it yourself kits now that they are selling franchises of their tear drops. I was interested in doing a kit also but by the time I was in a position to purchase a TD they were not doing the kits any longer, so I went ahead and ordered a 459 Krawler that...

Looking for a good AT Horizon

Dreams do come true! I have one for sale, will be available after Cruise Moab (May 8th) which I'am leaving for tomorrow. I had it listed on the forum here a couple months ago but since I decided to use it for CM I kinda let it get buried and was going to revive it when I got back. If interested...

    Bear Proof Trailer?

Was in Yellowstone/Teton in summer '09, used the bear box for the non perishable food and left the perishables in the fridge in the back of the FJ. As someone else mentioned keeping a clean camp is one of the best thing you can do to prevent bear problems, I've heard the fence thing works well...

    Partner Stoves?

:chef: I have bought 2 from Martyn @ AT (1 was for my brother, after he saw mine he had to have one also). On my internet search they were all about the same price, I got mine from AT because I wanted to support them because they support us (thanks AT for the offroad trailering class I took at...

    2011 Taco, couple of questions

I don't know how its mounted in a Taco, but I removed mine from a FJ Cruiser and it was only held on by 4 bolts and had to disconnect the wiring plug and subwoofer switch. I could hardly tell when the subwoofer was on, it definately did not shake the rig like a good sub should so I decided I...

What's your AT tire psi/airbag psi/shock set up?

I have the same vehicle/trailer/tire combo as Coastsider. I have never weighed my trailer for a exact weight when loaded with all the camp gear but I don't think I get to 2500 lbs. I run about 20 psi in the tires even on the highway, much more than that and the edges of the tires don't make...
