LR3 load range E tires; what pressure

I used a IR thermometer to map the surface temp of the inside, middle, and outside running surface. If the middle was hotter, I lowered the pressure and vise-versa. I with even temps across the running surface of the time I was at front 47psi and rear 51psi. This was for my 32" duratracs.

LR3 (Discovery3) ARB Rear Locker installed

It could be coincidence, but I felt the same way against DSC until the locker was installed. Could also be because I was also in "monkey snot mud" all weekend. My tactics are definitely slower and less throttle needed than ever before. Maybe DSC and HDC were primarily designed and tested with...

LR3 (Discovery3) ARB Rear Locker installed

One more variable to consider is hill decent control (HDC). I dislikes it and always turned it off util last week in the uwharrie mud. It was an absolute necessity...strangely dsc seemed to work better on the assents when both were turned on. No idea why it works, but I will leave it on now.

LR3 (Discovery3) ARB Rear Locker installed

No plans for the front. Im happy with traction for now. Hidden winch is on the short list. Maybe dedicated sets off road / on road wheels if I find a cheep set of wheels.

LR3 (Discovery3) ARB Rear Locker installed

The locker makes a measurable difference. I have long muddy rutted hill climb on my property. We took a ten runs at it and I had my passenger randomly switch it on/off the locker with out me knowing and track the results. Made it up 3 of 5 times with it Locked and only 1 of the 5 times...

LR3 (Discovery3) ARB Rear Locker installed

I was un/fortunate enough to follow a LR3 HD around for a day and saw how significant the little differences actually are. I did more difficult trails that day than I have ever done and got stuck on a rock climb and needed a winching (the HD did not). The HD LR3 was slow and steady, where mine...

Rover Warrior.... LR3 Build engagement pics

I agree the locker is not necessary on an lr3, but it sure makes everything a little less dramatic.

How far can you drive an LR3 / Discovery 3 without an alternator?

Yes - OEM 900 something CCA. I didnt see an amp hour rating on that one. The GRoup 34 AGM battery I added was similar spec. I have since disconnected the 2nd battery since the boat needed a new on anyway.

    ARB locker issue?

My LR3 actually has an arb rear locker, but think it's a rarity. I was at a LR event last week and only about 10% of the disco IIs seemed to have a locker. I didn't ask if they were oem (if there is a thing) or arb.

    ARB locker issue?

I think you will get more responsive replies in an arb forum. Not a ton of locked rovers. From what I have read oil up the actuator line is somewhat common. Why not plug it?

How far can you drive an LR3 / Discovery 3 without an alternator?

Maybe designed too, but after 110K miles of northeast salted winter roads I think the alternator was just looking for a stray to break. Agreed bad spot. If they are going to put it that low, at least make it so only the front skid plate has to be removed to replace it. Book says the fan and...

How far can you drive an LR3 / Discovery 3 without an alternator?

Short answer easily 1 hour per 900amp battery with wipers and defrost on (no headlights). Once it shuts off the suspension compressor, you have alteast 45 min of power remaining. After this little swim killed my alternator 3 hours away from home, I decided to give it a try and find out. We...

    Newb Here with a question

IMHO - the used LR3s are most economical to buy used and own. I have seen a few 2006 SE with just over 100k miles like mine under $10k. The HSEs get more money used because they were all up loaded with every option, but you can find a few SE with almost all the same options (only exception is...
