Man I can't even find a late model low mileage v10 extended body. Seems like most of those were bought for conversions already. V8 and 4spd autos are all over but anything else is kind of tough it seems.
I don't know, I never here anyone who complains when they don't have the CDC valve so who knows? Lol
I mainly went that route because my rear axle weight nearly doubles from completely empty for fully loaded with camper, water, fuel, gear, kid etc. You can always send them in and upgrade later...
Lol there you go, depends on who you talk to I guess. Like I said I have absolutely no issues with my setup. However I still think yours is heavier up front and the 700lb coils are a good call. If I added a bumper I certainly would have swapped springs as well.
Looks good! I've been meaning to message you about van stuff by the way. I know you've been swapping rigs a lot too and you've done the van thing already.
Icon use to tell you to preload the 650lb springs as much as you want. When I installed them they were recommending no more than 2". Haven't had a single issue or any sort of negative effect when fully compressing the suspension. I'm not sure if they've changed their recommendation lately or...
Also measured that my driver's side coilover has 2 - 1/8" thread showing above the adjuster collar, again this is with 2.5" lift over stock. Really not sure if it would help to have a stiffer coil with less preload or what. I haven't experience any coil bind or anything negative. But I...
I don't have measurements but I can try to dig up my spanner wrench and try to measure. I felt like the end was tapered slightly.
The icon spanner wrench is roughly $28, available on Amazon too. The long (curved) end doesn't really work inside the coil bucket FYI.
The frustration continues. I dropped of my springs, and didn't talk to the spring designer. My desires were "relayed" to him, and I had a hard time getting in touch with him on the phone. I finally did this morning, and the message was messed up. After more discussion, he told me that he is...
Not fully committed yet but pretty sure I will be selling it after baby is born. Just too small for an unorganized wife and two small kids. Doable sure, but trips would be a struggle and not so relaxing, especially when it's raining and stuff (all the time here). Not quigley but probably an...
Awesome, interested to hear your thoughts with the icons up front.
Our setups are very different of course. But I do have the coilovers cranked a fair amount for 2.5" of lift. Still probably less than 2" of thread showing on the driver's side so not horrible. I have heavy sliders and a...
For what it's worth, Icon states that 3-4 is roughly equal to the non adjustable shocks.
Normal driving, without my FWC, I set mine to 3 up front. Honestly I might try lower except my rear shocks are valved more firm for the camper. So rear shocks on mine get set at 1 or S when empty. If I...
Good to know. They use mag chloride here too. They overuse it for the weather we have, too many damn Californians moved in, so the roads are covered if it's 40 degrees lately. It is still waaaaay better than salt but still... It is a super sticky mess. I need to clean the coilovers really...
Finally pulled the springs off this morning and took them to Oregon auto spring. We'll see what they come up with.
Maybe now I'll install those super sweet looking rubber shock boots...
I had good results with siping my km2s. They're still mud tires but it definitely made a big improvement for me, hopefully it does for you too.
The awning should be nice! Having some space out of the rain/sun will be nice. I could never decide if I wanted to relocate the roof latch on the...
I have seen that article but I don't think Tom still uses that setup. I actually emailed him last night, we'll see if he comes back with anything.
If you like the air bags, leave them on. They are great for most stuff, definitely on the road. Like I said I'm picky, trying to achieve a...
