Advantages of ground tents over camping in your vehicle.

Yep except I haven’t found one that packs into a duffel bag yet.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Yeah we’ll thats what it came with. So far my typical use they have been fine. The OEM tires aren’t great but thats an easy fix. We’ll see how the better tires do. Most of my use off pavement is graded road or old logging road stuff which isn’t that hard on tires or require airing down to avoid...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

2019 heavy tow pack Expedition I typically see 20-21mpg road trips 70-75mph. Around town worst case 15-16mpg. Platinum 400hp, 3.73 gears, locking diff, 2spd transfer case. Currently on stock 22’s. Likely switching to bfg Trail Terrain on the 22’s in a month or so. Zero issues great rig. I was...

    Utility trailer camping pod?

Theres always the Jumping Jack trailer. I have the original Life Time Tent Trailer. Its great but the negatives are can be a long setup / tear down if your camping and hauling stuff. On the flip side it gets used as a utility trailer more often than a camp trailer. Currently it does the Jr...

    2021 F150 vs F250

Software updates? I have 2 took the dealer 30 minutes to update and send me on my way. Over the air updates will be the norm now days. Don’t kid your self thinking modern Toyotas are any different. There is a reason they all run the same kind of switches, plugs and other hardware. Only so many...

    2021 F150 vs F250

Fast flash even many generations ago was due to a voltage change typically a bulb burned out. Resistors might still be causing a funny voltage reading.

    2021 F150 vs F250

COVID built stuff will be on the avoid list for used shoppers. RVs, cars, boats, houses etc. All of them suffer both lack of skill assembly parts quality issues, parts substitution issues you name it. My 2019 bought in late 2018 Expedition has been flawless. The 2017 Fusion Energi also...

Advantages of ground tents over camping in your vehicle.

I have a 10x12 family Tent. Pretty cool tent. Only have used it 3 times in 5 yrs. Turns out you need to carry a bobcat to scrape off a big enough flat spot to use it, pretty much everywhere we go. So it got shelved.

Nitro Gear Ford Superduty 4x4 RV, cummins, 41" military tires, sleeps 6 *SOLD/PENDING

Cool rig. Geeze the tires almost make it look normal sized lol.

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

Yup to retain some level of ok road noise they went with a closed side wall tread design which all modern good highway tires typically have. The solution is having enough open channels front to back to make it s non issue. They basically took their mild hybrid Advantage A/T and fixed the lack of...

5x10 Cargo Trailer - camper build

Tempted to do a pop top version of your trailer. Have it popup another 3ft. Sides like a FWD truck camper.

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

The reading I did sounded like they were targeting better snow performance and better shoulder protection

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

Yep The new bfg Trail Terrain is basically the brand new highway poser SUV not a KO2 option. That will be put on my 22’s ???. Better than the soft squishy oems that have me driving dirt like I’m walking bare foot lol.

Does a decent 12V heater exist?

Not calling you a reptile but… How about a terrarium ceramic heat lamp? They come in various wattages. Add a simple 500 watt inverter and bingo. Tear drops are tiny. Heck just a basic candle lantern in my sailboat warms up the space pretty well. Thats about 5x bigger volume of space over a Tear...

    Shaking at 70+ mph

I found that checking run out and balancing drive lines is not really done anymore at least in the West where I am. Couldn’t find anyone within 500 miles that did it. And the one shop 500+ miles away wasn’t exactly a popular place to send stuff. So… How confident are you in the checking of the...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Yeah I have the stock 400hp 3.5 but only run 87. If I ever haul heavy and at speed I’ll bump the octane, but my typical use is all low stress stuff. Same deal for my old 07 4.7 87 around town. But highway road trips it needed 91, would ping at 75mph otherwise when pushed harder on 87. The 07 4.7...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Looks like Ford bumped the 3.5 to 440 recently. Hard to say if they tweaked bits in the 3.5 to run that or not.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Probably a little of all that plus the “conservative Toyota trend. Fewer high cost warranty repairs or pissed customers with broken trucks with lower tow ratings.
