Other than the large decal on the side that screams CARBON DIOXIDE, that's an original PowerTank setup. And I agree that it's a 10 lb. unit. I bought mine in 2001 and the tank, handle, regulator, gauges and even the hose, are identical to the one in the picture.

Thanks for the trail info. Yes, I imagine the rains do quite a bit of re-arranging of the topography when they roar through the canyon. One reason I think it looked so "clean" this time was because of the rains a day or two earlier.

Excellent photos and report! If you're a serious backpacker, I'd also recommend hiking the South Bass trail which takes off (I think) from Havasupai Point. Some good route finding required and great history.
