Fiberglass Molding and Engineering Hightop Review

I watched Bob's video on his top install and was sorry to hear he and some others had the bad experience on their top installs at that vendor. For a positive note on a nice top...it's old news that Fiberine fiberglass tops on the west coast are nicely designed and our 24" top from them...

Raptor liner Chevy AWD - rockers, fenders and bumpers

for those around the Portland/Vancouver Metro area i was & still am pleased (4 years after the job) with the Rhino Lining job that Vancouver RL did on our Chevy AWD. They did pretty much exactly the same area as mentioned in the OP. It really adds value and longevity to the rig. Our bill for...

I'm not sure...it decided to rain today (imagine that? Oh yea, its Oregon) so i'm not sure. Though it comes in handy as a reverse cam. I'm going to look into putting up a second cam, will check out the one you mentioned. Thom

It works well as a back up camera (aims toward ground) ...I would like to install a secondary full time rear-view camera. But that is for another day : )

THX : ) The black box houses the stock reverse camera..kind of overkill but the camera/monitor on dash is nice.

Which Van to Buy for Adirondaks?

Greetings, I'll share my wife's and my on-hands knowledge of both the Chevy 1500 AWD van (we have a 2010 that we've converted to a nice camper with full standing room), and we recently purchased a 2017 Ram Promaster (we got the 159" wb High Roof as there are two of us for extended travels)...

As an FYI...for any up in the PNW region (and i see that u r in NM so this will not apply.) Any Les Schwab tire center can send rims off to their PC shop in their weekly truck/run. We had a set done by them on another rig a couple years back and the price was $50ea wheel.

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

One of the reasons we went with the PM for our wet road conditions in our native PNW. Hey...! i just put a set of KO2s on the PM this weekend like you have on your Moby : ) great tire, and considered a traction device here in Oregon...no-chaining up for us. Thom

: ) thx, i'll send a PM before next _road trip_ The crew there was great. Easy to work with (dealt w/the Fleet Mgr). Our Jeep/Chrys. dealership here on the coast couldn't get the rig as they are not a Ram commercial dealership so they set up the meet...but they can do the work here on the coast...

Loaded Off-grid Overland Ram Promaster Conversion For Sale

Greetings, Nicely done. Some here know my wife and i have a chevy awd convertion (build link for the curious). With my 60th b-day around the corner we purchased a 2017 159wb HR 2500 PM and will be doing a ~stealthy~ conversion. I am curious as to the weight at the scales of your rig? The curb...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

Greetings, happy to help. Here is the page-link at the BOR - Boulder Off Road Vans website. If you look on the right side of page there is a "Rear Handling Kit" mentioned. That is what we put on in addition to the GM 3+1 leaf springs. We do have their 2" (worked out to be closer to 3") lift kit...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

I would actually start (knowing what i know now!) by taking your van into someplace you trust to take a look at the _health_ of your rear leaf springs. They may be able to find you a set of GM 3+1 to swap yours out for and you could be on your way to a solution. IF you did that and still felt...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

A few months ago i mentioned my wife and i were having the BOR Rear Handling Kit installed in our rig. Finally, after a few hiccups it is in and drives like a new-upgraded Van. Hiccup number 1) BOR accidentally sent wrong rear shocks with the kit. So a month later we had the correct ones...

    D.I.Y Shower Options

The thoughts i share are based on what we've found useful in our keep-it-simple lifestyle and the products were found/researched/approved by my wife. My wife and i've done mainly the garden sprayer or bag-showers. We are currently happy with the simplicity of the Sea to Summit Pocket Shower. We...

    Anyone Regreting downsizing?

Not the same situation as we downsized within a couple years of being empty nesters...my wife and i downsized back in ~2007~ when shopping for an adventure rig and purchased a 2007 TACO (which would have been a 3rd vehicle). Then the light went on... swap the family station wagon (a volvo x70...

    Quadvan High Top Build

: ) what 12xplore said : My wife and i've had our 24" fiberine hardtop on our 2010 van (info-image link) since it was ~2 months old off the lot new back then. We luv it. It is also my wife's daily driver. She has no issues with driving it like a mini-cooper in town : ) Thom

Why isn't anybody but Aluminess making a side ladder?

A note on Aluminess "Bargans" ;) My wife wanted an easy swing-from-somewhere-to-under-awning kitchen setup. Several calls an a few weeks later we had a kitchen box. It was "only" ~$7K installed~ Thom PS. It was mostly my _fault_ though. In my semi-OCD things gotta be symmetrical - i just...

Why isn't anybody but Aluminess making a side ladder?

Thumbs up on that ladder. We have one in our rig and use it to get lines further up trees as needed or to clean the roof of van. Thom
