    2015 F-150 Adventure Rig

I have 285/75/17's on my 2015 F150 and the that size fits in the spare tire space under the bed. No much extra room, but it fits without issue. I run a 5 way rotation so I take it down pretty often.

    Cirrus 820 Review and Insight

So it seems Cirrus took the 670 prototype and will develop two new truck campers from it- the 720 and 620. The 3/4 ton-match 720 (2300 lbs wet with options) is introduced here, with a full review to follow later https://www.truckcampermagazine.com/news/2019-cirrus-720/?singlepage=1 The...

    Possibilities for my F-150

I have a '15 F150 and I went with 275/75/17's on Raptor take-offs. The tires were almost 34 and they fit with just a 1"Bilstein level on the front. They might even fit w/o the 1", never tried it. I wouldn't go any bigger, personally. The nice thing is that you can fit the same size spare...

Bungee cargo net? Like the ones they sell for the bed of a pickup? I bet that would work and is easily modifiable for size.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Projects are on hold until warmer weather hits but I hope to tackle this ASAP.

    2017 F150 SCREW 4x4 build Thread

I would love to know more about this mod. The stock headlights on my '15 F150 XLT are really dim, and the regular fogs don't help much. I have tried brighter bulbs with only minimal improvement. What lights and how do you wire them on a dimmer?

    Cell phone booster

I have the same trailer as you, and note the same issues with it insulating against cell signal. Do you have a booster or just an external antenna on the pole? I am new to this tech.

    Cirrus 820 Review and Insight

I currently have a travel trailer but am looking to a hardside truck camper in the next year or so, hopefully a Cirrus 820 or maybe the new smaller/lighter model they are supposed to release in the first half of 2019. What truck are you carrying it with, and do you have any scale weights you...

New member's build finally in the truck.

You would need to provide a fresh air source for combustion and to vent exhaust. Perhaps equally problematic would be heat buildup. Confining it in a small box would lead to overheating, I think. So it would need to be very well vented for both of those reasons, which sounds like trouble to...

    Cirrus 820 Review and Insight

Just an FYI for those who love the features and aesthetic of the Cirrus line, they are working on a prototype for a smaller, lighter, simpler camper which should be released within 6 months or so. Check out an early look here...

Anyone use a genny along with solar?

I followed up with Iota and they basically confirmed what many of you recommended- they recommend their 45 and 55 amp chargers (DLS-45, DLS-55) if you were using a Honda EU2200, while their 15 or 30 amp chargers (DLS-15, DLS-30) would be the recommendation if you had a Honda EU1000. Nothing...

Anyone use a genny along with solar?

Great idea, maybe I can get away with a Honda 1000? If it can supply the 45A charger then I can save some on the generator without sacrificing charging. I could go 2200 on the generator and a larger charger, but that would be more money on both, not sure it would be worth it for the little...

Anyone use a genny along with solar?

Thanks all for the guidance on this. I am leaning towards a Honda 2200 generator with an Iota 45A charger. Not cheap, but seems to be the best solution for deep shade solar issues. Not sure how I'll wire it, I am guessing I'll do a permanent install with a disconnect switch between the...

Anyone use a genny along with solar?

To revive an old thread, I am facing the same issue of struggling to recharge my 2 6v Trojan batteries with my solar. It works flawlessly while I am in Colorado, not so well in W. Montana, and next summer we plan to head to coastal Oregon, Washington, and BC. We initially thought of portable...

    Front wheel storage during transport

I tried a really thin threaded rod for 9mm QR but it broke- luckily I had a cable lock on it so I didn't lose the wheel. I haven't figured out a better solution for 9mm. For 20 mm you could try to size up the vertical pipe or just wrap thick layers of electrical tape to take up the extra...

    Front wheel storage during transport

I had a similar problem, multiple wheels with different hub spacing (142, 148 Boost). I found that black or galv 1/4" pipe has an outer diameter just a hair narrower than a 15mm skewer. Get a matching floor flange, bolt it to a 1x4 which you bolt to your crossbars, and thread the 1/4" pipe...

    Automatic cutoff for tire inflation

Here is my situation. I tow a travel trailer on extended trips, often disconnecting for a few days at a time, and then driving my F150 on forest service roads and dirt tracks, as well as on pavement. This means I spend a lot of time airing my tires up and down, and I carry a Viair compressor...
