Good point, thanks.
My understanding is that an AGM battery will want an alternator that can output in the mid 14's, and that I need an AGM if I want to mount the battery in the sleeping compartment. I'm not sure what a '15 F150 alternator charges at, but it does have computer charging...
I am really interested in this discussion, as I am considering a cap/ toppper on my 2015 F150 set up for sleeping. This would include a house battery (AGM for venting concerns?) in the bed to run some led lights, power ports for accessories and occasional electronics charging, and a CPAP...
I think the OP said they weren't using humidification, and the link posted which indicated 34w was for humidified use. If I have this correct the draw for non-humidified use will be a lot lower, so solar/ battery needs could be a lot lower. Am I mistaken?
Ford F150. I used a ram mount attached to the dash tray, and ran a double USB extension behind the trim panels, plugged into the system in the lower center stack compartment. This charges the iPad, my Garmin Glo, and lets me play music through the vehicle without using bluetooth. The USB...
I finally got around to mounting my iPad mini on a ram mount, bolted into the dash tray on a '15 F150. I installed a USB hub/ extension in the tray so I don't have wires running exposed down the dash. They tuck behind the dash trim, center console trim, and stub into the little compartment in...

You can buy these on amazon as well. I didn't see any that look exactly as the ones you pictured, but they have others that might work.
I love what the OP is doing here, I have the same goals/ limited budget for my '15 F150 SCAB 4x4. I'll be watching closely as I have a few weeks before I start building my setup!
Many of the 'farm store' companies carry them too. Or look at the cabinet latch hardware options at places like rockler.com or LeeVining(?)

Equal sized feeds for the main line makes sense now, thanks. I also hadn't thought about having a breaker at both ends, but this makes sense as well. It would need to stop electricity from both ends should there be a short in the middle. Thanks!
Thanks all for the advice. I did do some searching before posting but didn't find anything on my specific situation, and I just got lost in the weeds of more technical electrical posts.........
I should have said I hope to get as much charge as possible while towing, rather than getting full...
I have a 2015 Ford F150 with a 7 pin trailer plug and a travel trailer with 2 6v Trojan batteries for boondocking. Ford doesn't wire the 7 pin to do more than just keep a trickle charge, and I want to send more power to the trailer to give the batteries a heavier charge when driving- I want the...
