E-350 Cutaway with Total Composites Box

Looks awesome! Now I really do regret not shortening the box on mine.

In Support of a Household 120V Fridge in a Camper?

In my limited experience, some of the home fridges are not fans of rough roads. The compressor in mine banged around so much I thought I'd broken something substantial. Granted, it was only $150 and lasted a year. My $650 DC RV fridge lasted about a year before a failure and I've been waiting...

    Van Build Purchase Question

Dude, at the very least you gotta say where you live. In general though, you pay sales tax on the full amount of the build and conversion.

Tongfa is the name of the Chinese manufacturer. They mostly supply to builders but you can find them on AliExpress and Alibaba.

Options for windows in overland build

The tilt out window style like the Tern Overland can be sourced in single pane tempered glass.

Options for windows in overland build

Fair point on the acrylic windows. You can order the same windows essentially but in tempered glass. The built in curtain seems to provide both more insulation and a larger thermal gap.

Options for windows in overland build

A buddy of mine imported a set of windows direct from the manufacturer in China. Other than slight differences in the combination blind/bugscreen they look like the Tern Overland but at about 50% of the cost. I'm still completing my build so no real performance report. They look great and...

    Yes Another Ambulance Build

makes a huge difference. I used to hit 95 db on hills and idled in the mid 70's. After a similar endeavour I now see high 70's on the hills, highway cruise in the mid 60's and idle at 55-60 dB.

E350 Cutaway 4x4 w/ DIY Pop-Top Composite Camper Box (Build Thread)

Interesting project, you might find some useful comparisons to converted ambulances. My converted ambo is an E350 on the 138" wheelbase with a 12 ft box. With a crosswise high mount bed in the back it's roomy enough for two that I wish I'd trimmed a couple feet off the back while I did the...

Bob the Campulance. E350 Crestline with Roof Raise. V3 in Progress.

Time for a quick update: Finally got my windows installed. With them and the electrical done it's time to start putting it all back together. Installing the windows was trickier than I expected. Unfortunately the windows mistakenly shipped with the narrow adapter ring that wasn't big enough to...

OMG... talk about a poltergeist level scene when you opened that fridge. PS Have friends in the caving community so was watching the Turkey rescue. Grateful it worked out.

Bob the Campulance. E350 Crestline with Roof Raise. V3 in Progress.

I recently had a brand new turbo installed on my 2009 6.0 Powerstroke and... it still kinda ran like crap. Color me disappointed!! No more engine codes, the VGT readings on the turbo were normal, no chuffing sounds from the stuck turbo vanes but it just didn't run as good as I expected, seemed...

E-350 Cutaway with Total Composites Box

I'd missed that you're local to me. Would be fun to do a comparison between my ambulance conversion and your custom rig once I've got the 4x4 conversion done. Have you gotten an empty weight on it? I'm partway through redoing my build and got on a scale after removing most of the interior...
