Thanks! The roof raise is a total game changer.
Connecting into the original panel was fine when the electrical system was mostly stock and before I gutted the interior. However that strategy of conserving parts and trying to keep things as close to stock as possible really fell apart once I...
Sounds like a leaking antenna is the most likely culprit. If you drop a couple of the ceiling lights then you might be able to see the leak from inside.
PS On the 2nd night of camping I discovered that my aux fuel ports stops pulling fuel just above the quarter tank mark. Fortunately I also discovered that all the work I put into insulation was worth it. Despite the cold, snow and lack of heat I was more comfortable than when I camped in...
Bit slow on the updates here. Just got it back together enough last weekend for a quick camping trip.
I've been knee deep in discovering my decision to try and retain the Crestline electrical panel and adapt it to my needs *may* not have been the best route.
I thought it would be easier to...
All my leaks were from antenna holes. Your ambo is a fair bit older so it is possible those roof seams are leaking. I'd go with Dave's advice. Dry them out and tape them. I used the 3M 4412N Extreme Sealing tape to seal up all the new butt joints on my roof raise and so far have only one...
Interesting thread. Living in Alberta and being an ice climber & backcountry skier I've also been faced with the challenge of how to deal with cold temps. (-35C isn't frequent but it's not uncommon).
You might find this an interesting read...
Just between the tank and the filter. The rest of it is the clear plastic link that was supplied originally. If I recall correctly these heaters aren't too fussy about the input side of the fuel pump but using the correct hose between the pump and the heater is essential.
Mine came with a rear sway bar, the handling is pretty damn impressive for a 10ft tall, 9500 lb box on a hard rubber hockey pucks. I always get a laugh heading up twisty hills when other drivers start piling up thinking I'm like the average RV and will be slowing down 20+ KPH, and I don't even...
That was my thoughts. It's so easy to add foam board to an ambulance but you seemed pretty certain about the thinsulate.
Have you seen this insulation test? https://www.buildagreenrv.com/insulation-testing-for-van-conversions/
Thanks David!
1/4 tank? Thanks, I was wondering about that.
That Afterburner seems very cool. I'll have to look into it again once I'm caught up on other stuff.
Yes, I put a thermal gap on all the ribs, for the walls and the ceiling..
Really not sure on the finishing touches to finish the...
Well, life got busy again but I've been able to start making progress the last couple weeks. With sub-zero temps only a couple days away I'm cranking hard to get some certain jobs done.
Got all the insulation back in (was all out for the roof raise) plus added more. Have two of the three new...
NIce to see progress on this David! 1/8th? Holy cow, is it going to double as a dance platform? ;)
All kidding aside, great looking job. I suspect it's going to be more work than my roof raise... but given you need more room than I do I think the poptop was the better choice.
Your patience and perseverance are amazing. Maybe it's time to start carrying a small motorcycle on the back? Make those parts store runs a lot quicker. :)
