It's Tire Time!!!
The day after the motor vehicle inspection the tires went on. I've been looking at them piled up in the yard for too long and wanted to get the old ones up for sale asap. The old tires and wheels sold quickly for $1100 which was nice.
Here's a look at the difference...
I recently bought over a hundred LED bulbs on ebay for cheap. Some guy was out of the business and was selling stuff off inventory. I think I have bulbs for the clearance lights and should have checked when I was there. For now LED bulbs are low on the priority list. I'm scrambling to have...
The fridge is in. This is one of those milestones I was talking about earlier. You don't realize how much you miss having a fridge until you share a tiny one with your father that also houses his beer. I went all out on the fridge. It's an isotherm inox 200. 5 cubic feet total. Remember...
Thanks for the suggestion. I've gone to great lengths finding white stainless steel screws. Luckily I don't need that many because they can be crazy expensive. One place wanted a dollar a screw for a 2" white top stainless. I recently just bought some at Home Depot and will paint them myself.
I'm back. Actually I've been here the whole time, just putting all my hours into the truck rather than the interweb. Coming up on 4 months of full time work. Yep, we're talking 50 hours a week with no breaks but the occasional bike ride. Is it still fun? Yes it is. Do I wish it was...
You guys may be getting bogged down in the details here. Most of you are talking about more than a kilowatt of panels on the roof. What the heck are you going to be using all that energy for that it can't be shaded from time to time. We had a cloudy day here last week and I was happy to see...
I'm going to agree with Victorian. I've just installed 4 of the arctic tern windows and they are awesome. I've got pictures if you need them or go to my build link at bottom.
This is the set up I have. I've been meaning to see if the panels can keep up with the A/C. It looks like they will during peak sun. My panels make almost 10 kilowatts per day and my A/C uses about 1100 when the compressor is on. Now it's all about the variables like cab windows in the sun...
I'm up for a consulting job and you can use my crimper. Bring that rig up here to the cooler temps. It was only 96 here yesterday. Maybe I'll swing through there on my way North in a couple months. Phoenix in August, yay....
What can I say, it's a big roof. There was room to spare. The panels are something like 63 x 42? Look up the panasonic 325 watt panels on Northern Arizona Wind and Sun's site to check. The panels are wired so each side is separate. Two arrays each in series. In other words if the driver or...
No plans for that yet. It's a good idea. There isn't much room for anything else to go in this cabinet. We shall see, if I try to cram other stuff in there then I might use your idea. Most likely it will stay as is for easy access. A guy on instagram had a great idea of putting a top rail...
Electricals...........
My electrical system is all Victron Energy from Bahn Camperworks. It went together easily and is amazing thus far. The panels are 1300 watts (panasonic), batteries are 2 x 200 amps lithium, Inverter is a multiplus 3000w, and solar controller is a 150/85.
My...
It's been a while since I updated. I've been at it full time but seems like a lot of the smaller details have been taking precedence. I have finished a few items however including this cabinet. Nice to have at least one place where I no longer need to do anything. Having said that I'll...
