It is very common, but I agree they should have asked you about it. Most shops send people out the door with tires rubbing and the owners are mad about that too.
I don't know about the 4Runner specifically but a lot of the tacomas and FJs need a cab mount chop with 285s. A big part of the...
Most of the sportsmobile forums I use to follow had users well over gvwr. Lots of them rolling around over 10k lbs. Quite a difference from a half ton that's a little over weight. Now if you're starting with a crew cab, long bed 4x4 diesel pickup the weight would be closer. Same could be...
Thanks for posting. We finally got our daughter sleeping in her own crib and bedroom at home at around 10 months. She is almost a year old now. I'm slightly terrified that letting her sleep with us when the fleet finally arrives will ruin out sleeping routine at home.
I ordered the forward...
I've given that "bumper" some thought as well for a temporary or semi permanent solution. Too many projects! Weighs about as much as a full aluminum bumper but at something like 1/3 of the cost. Looks clean too.
Interested to see what you come up with for a camper. I'd love to build my own...
I figure I'll just scratch my truck now. It's free after all.
If I need it to look pretty later, I could put a fresh wrap on it then and it would look brand new. You know, rather than spending a bunch of money on a wrap and scratching and tearing it.
Actually I really like the wraps...
Agreed. The wiring to the amp will always have power. Essentially the relay is inside the amp, and the blue (usually) remote wire is the trigger to turn it on.
Have you changed for any amperage? Just because the wires are hot (they should be) to the amp doesn't mean it is pulling current.
FYI if anyone has other cabinetry or flooring, they sell a universal flat bed rug. Cut to fit for about $100. This would actually be great stuff for a camper floor/rug, with some non skid material underneath.
Thanks for the idea. It did occur to me initially to be able to turn off the solar charge if it would be problematic. But with the solar controller at 14.7v, I'm assuming (once again) that the alternator won't regularly get that voltage to the batteries or all the way back to the solar...
I have read that about odyssey batteries as well. Which is why I'm hoping that tying all of the batteries together will allow the alternator and solar work together. I haven't looked at the truck's charging voltage but Im assuming it's right around 14v max. If I'm out and about, hopefully...
Thanks guys, just needed some confirmation after reading some poorly written "theories" about it. Nobody ever talks about it so I figured it wasn't a big deal. I think reading that ctek manual convinced me it was an issue too! haha
I believe the FWC wiring is only 10 gauge from the roof to...
Again maybe over thinking. I suppose if the batteries are 60% state of charge, solar would be providing a bulk charge at lower voltage. The alternator (voltage regulator) would still sense this as low voltage and provide a bulk charge at the same time? I'm fine if the alternator kicks off...
