Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to find time to work on the next round of stuff...

    Fusing a winch

Maybe it's just me, but if you're worried about tampering, I would just install a blue sea or similar battery switch near the battery and leave it off until I need to use the winch. Yes it is more expensive, but I'm not sure a 500 amp fuse is going to really protect anything...

    Need New Tundra Suspension

I'd say you're completely right about the bilsteins topping out and clunking. Same with every set of bilsteins I've run on an IFS alplication. That's why I went with extended travel icons (2.5" reservoir with CDC) and uniball upper arm on my tacoma. I don't have a ton of miles on them yet but...

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

The part number in my emails from wheelers off road is 57806CP, measuring 15.85" x 26.18". Verify that first! It looks like it's a variant of the 2.5" shock for a 6" lift. I don't know what the letters at the end represent. But they did say it was an existing part number so it wasn't a...

    Track Bar Bracket

No it won't. AEV sells their 2.5" lift that uses the stock front components with a rear track bar tower. They have done just a little more research. Their rear track bar tower for the 3.5 and 4.5" lift has two different mounting holes. I forget the exact measurement but it raises the track...

Battleship Jones: 2015 Tacoma DCLB Build Thread

Gotcha. I've been looking at pelfreybilt and relentless too, though in aluminum due to an already heavy build plan. I jumped the gun on all pro sliders due to the cost and a free shipping sale, so I'm thinking most skids are going to require some modifications. I use a hi lift handle isolator...

Battleship Jones: 2015 Tacoma DCLB Build Thread

What do you have for skid plates? I really want to relocate the exhaust crossover and run a flat skid plate on the cross member, but I don't want to spend the extra money right now either. May just run a decent skid plate with the exhaust cutout but I can't decide yet. Some companies have...

    Boden Build - 2015 Tacoma DCLB 4wd

Nice work! Thanks for posting the details. I need to tackle my electrical project when I'm home next time as well. Unfortuantely it won't be as pretty as yours I'm sure, I just do not have the time at the moment. Over the next couple weeks I need to do like a big list of parts (and crimping...

Post Pics of your FWC with Lifted Trucks

Nice setup, any more pics? Looks like a shell, are you using anything other than the basic OME leaf pack out back?

Interview with the chief Engineer for the 2016 Tacoma

Meh I would still take a 5 or 6 speed. Every 8 speed auto I've driven is completely obnoxious in mountainous terrain. Constantly shifting and hunting, lagging, etc. I'm sure it's overall good for economy but the normal driving characteristics are horrible to live with IMO.

Remains to be seen. Needs several years of abuse to know for sure!

Interview with the chief Engineer for the 2016 Tacoma

Probably just means they will stop using bilsteins and save a few bucks. Lol Sounds like the only worthwhile changes are the auto trans and sound deadening. Since I'm changing suspension, gearing, differentials and brake lines etc on my 2015 I think that's all I missed out on. Aerodynamics...

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

I figured I'd update again. Unfortunately not much new though. Between my daughter's birthday, my birthday, wife's birthday, Mother's Day, a bunch of house projects, and a sick baby every day during the week, I didn't get to do anything with the truck in my 12 days home. I tried to get out...

    Mounting racks & boxes

I agree. If nothing else contact the manufacturer directly. Construction changes over the years. They should be able to give you better information and recommendations than any of us could guess at. Report back with the info for others in the future.

Post Pics of your FWC with Lifted Trucks

I suppose that's true if you back into a vertical wall. Otherwise you'll drag the bumper well before damaging the camper. I was hoping to contribute pics by mid June but I'm told it will be at least the end of July now. :(

Coil Over Rear Shocks Gen2 Tacoma

Not a great picture but there is not much room between the shock and spring. And almost no room between the shock and axle.

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

Hah! Like I said I get VERY little done lately. I finally installed them this evening, after an exhausting day with my daughter. It was a little bit of a process because the lower shock mounts had to be ground down a bit. The rod end is slightly too big. Had to dig around and find my angle...

Coil Over Rear Shocks Gen2 Tacoma

I don't even think the coils will clear the axle anyway.
