Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

So far so good! Right now running 40psi front and 50 rear, front shocks on 5, rear on 8 (the rears are valved 25% firmer than normal).

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

Hadn't looked at the cbi skids, and didn't know they made aluminum. Will have to check it out. American Rv in Tigard is pretty new. They opened in February at that location. Bumper and winch at some point, but I don't know when. Not real soon, pretty well blew my budget with batteries...

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

I flew home yesterday afternoon and worked on a few last minute tweaks. Left side circuit breaker goes to the bed connection now. With an anderson powerpole connector. These are the taller and softer than typical timbrens installed. Since removing the large overload and installing the...

    Separate batteries with remote switch

Keep it simple and get the blue sea ACR 7622 https://www.bluesea.com/products/7622/ML-ACR_Automatic_Charging_Relay_with_Manual_Control_-_12V_DC_500A You can manually connect or disconnect the batteries. Or leave it on auto. It will connect them when charging, disconnect when either battery...

Scott B.'s 2015 AC Build - Expo Style

Looking good! I does seem like the front is a little high. It might help to measure fender to wheel height (or similar) in static position, then lift the truck via the frame and let the suspension droop, remeasure. I don't know how the rebound valving on those will compare to the 5100s, but...

    Tacoma 4cyl vs 6 cyl

"Kept me from getting tickets." I hope I never catch myself saying that and feeling ok about it. Haha I felt like the stock v6 was barely adequate, so I supercharged it right away. I feel great about the 4 cylinder in my wife's car, but it's a turbo diesel. I pulled a cargo trailer from KY...

    REI fold out table.

Thanks, just ordered one. Looked like a good way to use the rest of my dividend. Seems a little heavy but it looks nice, definitely better than the tables with the roll up aluminum tops. Snow peak has some nice looking stuff. But I went in the Portland store once and was blown away with...

    Switcheroo - 1 Bored Clerk's 2013 Tacoma Build

That's too bad. Hopefully it gets worked out. My sister in law said the fat fedex driver slammed the ECGS boxes on the porch when he dropped them off. A few holes in the boxes. Lazy ********. Hopefully I have better luck.

    Switcheroo - 1 Bored Clerk's 2013 Tacoma Build

Nice! I had a noisy gear set on my f150 and it never changed. Wasn't horrible, but whined at steady speed around 50. No other range, not accelerating or decelerating. All I can say is out a few miles on and keep listening. Talk to them on Monday. First gear is fairly low stock too. I...

Happijac or Torklift for a 10 foot Alaskan cabover on a RAM 3500 with crewcab?

Guys the torklift mounts can so easily be modified. I cut mine shorter (had them on an f150) and re drilled holes for the pins. The mounts were flush with the rocker panel of the truck. I also swapped sides and turned the mounts up (I don't think I have a good picture any more) but the lost...

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

My camper hit the ground, and I still have 6 days of work in Louisiana.... American RV in Tigard was nice enough to send me this.

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Kurt, Any input on the tacoma now running the TRD supercharger through the snorkel? I can't imagine it flows very well, would be very curious if clay has compared by pulling the snorkel off at some point. My 2015 is supercharged but I just cannot imagine it breathing well through that thing.

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

I don't know yet. I worry about clearance and heat (with a transmission skid) with the urd pipe, and dont really like the exhaust shops I've used enough to have them re-route the exhaust behind the transfer case for me. If anything I'll probably go with a skid plate with the cutout or dropped...

Battleship Jones: 2015 Tacoma DCLB Build Thread

I've been reading 175lbs for a tacoma arb bumper. Seems high to me but I'm sure it is over 100lb..?

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

I change my mind a lot but I've been on pelfreybilt (aluminum) for a while now. I do like the classic look of the ARB but they are heavy, and my truck is already heavy. The aluminum pelfreybilt is 55lbs without grill guard tubes. Fairly basic and clean looking, adds a bit of clearance and...

How to pee in the outdoors (for girls) rated PG.

Haha my wife hates me for calling her out on things like that. ;) I, on the other hand, never make mistakes. . . ahem Thanks for the video though. I have a little time before I have to teach my daughter to do this, but it beats holding her in the air over a ditch like I've seen my friends...

So your daughter cuts her finger...

Very good point. Leaving the cut open at night (if it can be kept clean) is usually best to let it heal. Just keep it covered while she is active or until you're in a cleaner environment to tent to it.

So your daughter cuts her finger...

I am a big fan of liquid bandage (several different brands out there, even a spray can). I manage to cut my hands all the time, don't know how but I do it ALL the time. As soon as I can stop the bleeding I rinse out the cut and apply liquid band aid. It is fairly flexible and sticks on very...

    Tire thoughts...thinking out loud

Haven't had my st maxx in snow yet. But I will say I loved the KM2s when they were siped. But I guess everyone has different expectations. They got around very well "for a mud terrain" when I siped them. On icy/snowy trails especially. They are no dedicated snow tires but I never had a...

    HiLux gets new diesel

I agree. They are getting overly complex with very expensive emissions components. From a price standpoint they don't make sense much in bigger trucks unless you really need it. I still stand by our 2010 VW golf TDI. Yes it does have the DPF. But the price (similarly equipped) compared...
