    Switcheroo - 1 Bored Clerk's 2013 Tacoma Build

What's the status of the third member? What gears were in it? Mine were nitro and I haven't heard a peep of gear whine. Fortunately the rear is very quick and easy compared to the front!

The bumper and winch look good! I really want a full aluminum bumper but the "stealthness" of that bumper is definitely cool.

Just picked up 2015 Taco, bigger tire/wheel question in regards to TC/ABS

I think it is refered to as zero point calibration. I'm wondering if it has something to do with people lifting the front 3" and barely touching the rear, not really sure. Either way the calibration seems to help most folks.

Just picked up 2015 Taco, bigger tire/wheel question in regards to TC/ABS

Usually just bolt on and go. Occasionally people have issues with the stability control, but the dealer should be able to recalibrate the system if needed. The only time I had an issue was cornering hard with a camper on the truck, and didn't have the Trac control disabled. However the first...

Another Tacoma Build (Brian's 2015 DCLB)

Disappointed to see that aironboard.com sent the wrong compressor switch. They should all be red/green. The bottom lights up with the dash lights, the top when switched on. Looks like I'll be tearing the dash apart again soon, oh well. I also added a 3/8" spacer under the timbrens for...

If I can find the correct wire to use, yes. ;) Aironboard.com

Today was full of distractions, definitely not as productive. However I did finally get the compressor mounted. There is really only one spot under the hood, with the supercharger, smog pump etc. Of course it is a super tight fit and took quite a bit of time getting it wedged in there in just...

I bought the wire here http://www.allbatterysalesandservice.com/browse.cfm/2,723.html And the abrasion sleeve is techflex but I can't remember where I found it. I think the large adhesive backed heat shrink tubing came from the same place. But I put them together if that is what you're asking.

Whew, another long day. I swapped the front diff today. Again not bad overall but I had a few hang ups. Doing this by myself on a hot garage floor generally produces a few extra delays and screw ups. Everything went well until I was trying to remove the CVs from the diff. The passenger...

L That might be a good option. I haven't had a chance to look around and measure. My garage is a mess from the recent projects, I need to dig out my fuel container. One thing that I loved on the jeep was my trasharoo. I thought about figuring a way to mount the rotorpax on the rear...

Yeah we talked about shuffling things around in the camper, I'm sure. I don't mind packing the dinette full if I can leave the rear 4' open. Which is a big benefit of this layout for us. I have the arctic pack so really no space for bedding. I bought an RV superbag which is king sized, like...

Great reminder. I have stainless hose clamps to adjust my boots if needed, but I keep forgetting!

Cobblecrazy, Thanks for the input. Something to think about for sure. I haven't decided that I'll need a roof box anyway, but wanted to plan to be able to use it. I can feel a small difference even lifting the front with the light weight panels. The only reason I would want a box now is to...

The solar wiring I'm sure will get revisited. I do have a plastic combiner box but I was pressed for time. Since I can't cut the leads off the panels it leaves me with limited options. The wires are held by some plastic clips and dabs of 3m 4000 adhesive in spots, but needs more. I have...

That is supposedly to keep the rear folding step from puncturing the door if it if left down. It was installed already.

Thanks Mike! We think it will be a great solution as well. Here is the next project... I'm worn out already, hoping this one goes relatively smooth. Sure wish I had AC in the garage though. I haven't had a chance to look at mounting solutions for the compressor so there is a chance...

The panels are from renology. I ordered them and most things on Amazon, for the 2 day shipping with prime. I found a lot of guys gluing them down with 3m 4000 adhesive. I was apprehensive about doing this in case I needed to remove a bad panel of change positions etc. The aluminum roof has...

Long weekend! I didn't get a chance to install the solar before we left. We spent the weekend at the coast "camped" on family property. We were plugged in, so no real comments on battery or charging capacity. The ride is great overall. You can feel the weight back there but handling is way...
