Looks good! I had to cancel my exhaust appointment last minute, my daughter was throwing fits and I had nowhere to take her. Couldn't see driving all the way up there and trying to keep her there for a couple hours.
Hopefully I can do it in 2-3 weeks.
What is the rear of the skid bolted...
I think he is just saying that the dealer is calling it normal and blaming it on the injectors or the pcv valve or whatever other ideas they come up with. I have a set of injectors with only a few hundred miles if you want to buy them but I don't think it's going to help you. ;)
Different...
It's referred to as the "Tacoma tick". ;)
I don't have any technical knowledge about it, but they nearly all seem to do it. Mine is brand new and does the same thing. If I accelerate hard, the supercharger whine covers it up anyway!
The transmission is nothing like the tundra. I'm only giving you a heads up because I've been monitoring trans temps with mine, even with 4.56 gears and a lighter four wheel camper in the bed it heats up very quick in that scenario. That's what 4 low is for, lower gearing reduces transmission...
Im still glad I got a 2015, and got the last supercharger my dealer installed before Toyota discontinued them.
It is nice that the HP increased, but the torque didn't, and peak torque is at higher rpm. Sounds like a car engine. I suspect the six speed auto is closely geared and that helps...
Haha I've been quiet, but I would be having second thoughts too!
Not just because of trimming, but handling in general. The tacomas have pretty light duty front ends, light steering racks and bushing, light control arm bushings etc. I could feel a change in driving dynamics just stepping up...
In that video it sounds like you're towing around off road in 4 high. I don't know if you have a scan gauge or anything to monitor transmission temps, but they do get high very easily. Particular with a load in 4 high, moving slowly over rough terrain. I have read that the temp light doesn't...
The jet boil is just quick and easy, that's all. I only use it outside. Just takes a couple minutes to boil, no moisture or fumes in the camper etc. I haven't tried any small 12v blender, but like I said freezer space is limited. Which reminds me that I need to find some half size ice cube...
Not sure where you would carry those extra items? ;)
I bring a jet boil because it's fast and easy to heat up water for coffee and dehydrated meals. And a small French press. And a flat folding charcoal bbq. But I really don't cook much. It might be nice to have a small propane bbq as most...
I do have a blue sea fuse panel, I must have bought it used 8+ years ago. I haven't had time to install it yet, like so many other things...
Thanks! I am enjoying it. ;)
I'm happy with the change, but my needs changed too. The Jeep was very capable off road, and definitely had a cool...
I used mine in my fleet for the first time this weekend. I woke up to a soaked floor (and clothes bags on the floor) and gray water smell.
Huge hole in the rear corner of the shower pan. It is Also somehow bent into a low point. I don't know what idiot at the factory passed that but due to...
Yep, seems like they are asking full new retail (or more) for everything. I see that they're running bigger tires but the susoension is nothing expensive or to get excited about. No mention of re-gearing axles or anything of that nature either.
Camera location when loaded
Camera view. My garage needs serious attention...
And a fairing that is probably nearly useless. I'll tweak it and see if it seems to make a difference. Just trying to cut down on the wind between the cab and camper, so I'll probably move it back, maybe...
You should see the buying frenzy over the TRD superchargers and fit kits, since Toyota announced they are canceling the program.
Everyone wants what they can't have!
Thanks! The camper is awesome, we love it so far. Love the floor plan as it leaves open space for cooking/cleaning/toilet etc with the bed made. There is more storage that pictures lead you to believe, though it does require storing bedding and clothes etc on the dinette when closed. There is...
Thanks. It's mostly the angle. It had to have a bend to allow for suspension travel and they was how the line keeps shaping itself. It is still not routed the way I wanted but the supplied air line was JUST long enough as is. I need to lift the truck via the frame and see if it's long...
I had my hands full and forgot to call Friday. I have plans late this week so I'm headed in next Monday for my re-route. Please post pictures and thoughts when yours is done tomorrow!
Working on maintenance and misc stuff today.
So far I've flushed and filled the differentials, and rotated the tires (all five). I repacked the third member and front diff and shipped them back to ECGS for core refund. I pulled the one way breather from the rear diff and routed it to the bed...
