    They said don't do it.....

Exactly. I have free towing on my insurance. ;) Happy I think you should back off a bit, nobody is disagreeing with you about maintenance. But if you have no faith in a Toyota you should be driving a Land Rover or a Jeep. The point of the thread was to show the haters are wrong, again. I have...

    They said don't do it.....

^haha yup that's it. On my trips to Panama I did all kinds of preventative maintenance, like lots. I got nothing wrong with it, as I just said done it myself. But I drive Toyota's (and the occasional Nissan) and I don't believe hype. These are excellent trucks and I think I am proving it. :) Cheers

100 Series Replacement Dash / Interior Parts

I like the plain black look and not much else. Have you seen the funky grey wood grain in some of the later 100's? Talk about ****** are you thinking Toyota!? I just started prying off the wood grain junk. It breaks easily. I was just to lazy to dig out the heat gun but that is how I will get most...

That is how most adventures are born, not many happen from "what if's". That said, the 100 is a great platform for road trips, light off-roading and camping. With a rear (and front) locker they can easily do some mild off-roading. Like I said, it was the first time wheeling my 100 and while not...

    They said don't do it.....

but I did it anyways. I was told, don't drive your 100 on a 2,000 mile road trip with that 125k 16yr old timing belt. Well, I did and it was fine. First 600 miles through a blizzard at night, then I got about 100 miles of good roads before the next 300 miles in a gnarly wind/dust storm. Then I...

    1988 D110 6x6 Ute

Well I live in the country, I sure don't want to be passing any big trucks on these roads where I can't see around the trucks and there is lot's of that here. On top of that my drives down to Central America, RHD would be downright dangerous. I have driven in Australia, for that it is...

1964 Nissan Patrol soft top restoration

I really can't say. I hope it gets driven and it needs to be driven, at the least to break it in. I am really not sure what the owner will do with it, that is all up to him. It is nice though, real friggin nice. I would want some serious insurance on it, since a large amount of the parts put...

    1988 D110 6x6 Ute

It is not just driving on the RHS, it is passing. For example, passing a semi truck. You can't see around it when you are sitting on the shoulder side of the road. Cheers

1964 Nissan Patrol soft top restoration

Head light resto/assembly, luckily I have correct pre-68 Patrol Toshiba headlights. As you can imagine, not many sets of these original Toshiba headlights out there that still work. Starting in 1968, they are Koito's. Head light pig tail, Koito and Denko. In case you can't read it, it...

1964 Nissan Patrol soft top restoration

Been working on a lot of little things on this truck lately, one of the bigger projects is restoring the wiring harness. The 64's original harness is in good enough condition to save. So I am stripping it, checking everything, making repairs as required and re-wrapping with the early grey wrap...

My New Build: 1990 3-Door Nissan Patrol, 4.2, Diesel

What is up with the chicken!? And why is your steering wheel on the ground in the last picture? Do you have lockers in this truck yet? LSD in the rear? Cheers

Reliability Toyota --- Coming from a Land Rover Owner

Scott, since you have non-USA trucks when are you going to get a Patrol!? Are you waiting for the Y61s to become importable or even just a late production Y60? I know you have driven them and while maybe not your favorite I am sure you know how good of trucks they are. The Y61s with the right...

    Dilemma deciding what to get

That is a good looking Cruiser. Ya can't see much but what you can see looks to be not much rust on the chassis. If you could get that for low $12's I would look hard at it. Here is suggestion, have the truck inspected by a Toyota dealership in the area. It will cost ya $100-200 per inspection...

    Dilemma deciding what to get

Got ya going didn't I? First of all, Nissan Patrols are the best 4wd ever made, hands down. The MB G's are awesome too but have serious issues with suspension travel, aftermarket support and they cost way to much. Land Cruisers are the next best thing. I am no blind brand loyalists. But from...

    Dilemma deciding what to get

Why are the LR guys over here raving about their Rovers!? Don't think you see many Cruiser guys in the Rover section raving about our Cruisers. I could be wrong, I never go to the Rover section! :p Rovers are juuuuuunk! Read read read and you will see I am not making that up. Crappy...
