I would stick with what you have. I have several of these devices and have found little to no benefit by changing the antenna.

I get having a spare and I always carry one. But let’s say your running a 37 and carry a 35 spare, would that really be an issue? i know a full-size would be ideal but I don’t really have the space to carry the 37 and a 35 would still get you of the trail.

I use it. Overall very good. Sometimes there is a bit of a lag when sending and receiving messages. I use the live tracking quite a bit and seems to work flawlessly. I like that it’s so portable. I have teenagers and give it to them when they go out hiking.

I own a 19 Cummins and a21 power wagon. The biggest problem with the 6.4 is the gas mileage. I towed a 8000lb trailer once with the power wagon and got 6.5mpg. I would get around 11 with the Cummins. I do live in Utah with lots of change In elevation.
