Is the Ranger the Hilux we've been wanting?

That's the one thing about the ecoboost motors. Major difference in economy between a load versus not.

Is the Ranger the Hilux we've been wanting?

The current, actually old, Tacoma sucks IMO. Some in other countries think that version of the Ranger is better than the Hilux. I would buy the U.S. Ranger over the Tacoma hands down, it's simply a better truck than the Taco. I would also look at the new Jeep truck very closely.

Diesel for overlanding- are you happy with the choice?

Look into a turbo timer and EGT gauge if you don't have that capability on your truck. You can take the key out and lock the truck and the turbo timer will shut off the motor when your turbo/EGT is at a safe temp to do so.

Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

You could hang the bag from the roof rack. Or just wear flip flops up into the tent and keep them in a plastic container or slide them under the tent/rack

Diesel for overlanding- are you happy with the choice?

The Godzilla is gonna be huge in the fleet sales market. I will be looking hard at this truck in a few years. It makes a lot of sense for me.

Ram and Ford HD owners.....enter here.

I hear ya, ever since getting this 450L my wallet can't keep money in it. As far as a new truck goes I am still going to hold out and keep the 4Runner until at least 2022, maybe longer. An the Ford 7.3 gas XL is the front runner for a 4 replacement at this point in time.

Diesel for overlanding- are you happy with the choice?

There is also quite the difference at the pump. I remember when diesel was cheaper than gas but those days are long gone. Considering it's cheaper to produce diesel than gas, this shows you how much we are getting screwed by big oil taking very healthy profits. As a result it's gas from here...

Autohome Air Top and Columbus Variant (any in Vancouver, Canada?)

I appreciate you responding here after a few months. An just saying my email has still not been responded on. I have moved on, not because of the lack of response but for other reasons. I have found a product that will better fit my needs. Wish you guys the best.

    2019 Honda CRF 450L

Exactly, I believe this bike is the perfect companion to your overland vehicle, not a separate means to "overland". In other words you have a base camp, your vehicle, then you have the bike to explore, run errands, etc...the perfect very capable companion

    2019 Honda CRF 450L

I believe the change interval is every 600 miles and probably takes 10-15 minutes to do. I'm sure during easier, ie, longer, mellow dual sport rides that interval could be extended. Also I feel this is Honda protecting Honda, meaning if you look at the maintenance intervals recommended by the...

    2019 Honda CRF 450L

I may be joining you on owning one of these things, going in Tuesday to see if I can make a deal. (y) Really don't need it but you only live once and I live in an area that is just too pretty not to explore by dual sport. An just having the ability to take it with me on road trips so I won't...

    free standing canopy suggestions?

I just bought this but do not have it yet. I also wasn't sold on a dedicated vehicle awning. This Slumberjack seems to be very versatile and can free stand or be set up in many different configurations. I also have an EZ UP type canopy I use for the dirt bikes at the track but as mentioned...

Slumberjack roadhouse tarp / any other users?

Just ordered one also. It seems like it will be more versatile than a regular awning and with the 4Runner having a rear hatch, I feel it was a better fit also since all the food, cooking, etc will be based out of the back of it. I'm sure it will be a small adventure setting it up by myself the...
