The service manual didn't mention it, but I could have missed it. Its a self locking nut, and I used a new one. My best guess is I accidentally used the old crush sleeve. I will dig through my parts bin later to see.
The gears were used, bearings and diff were new. The oil was pretty contaminated, not quite quicksilver though. If the bearings are good I will put it back together, but I doubt it. Especially with there being no preload for a while.

I finally found the source of the vibration. The rear driveshaft had 1/32 runout at the pinion end. Turns out the pinion nut was half a turn loose. ? No idea how it happened. I torqued down to set the preload, everything was tight, and backlash was good. I am hoping the pinion splines...

We use a similar setup on aircraft galleys. The main issue is I would need to work out a method to prevent the bin from falling out at full extension. Should be doable, I just haven't looked into it. For maximum volume I could use 40 thousandths UHMWPE tape at several locations.

The viar compressor stopped working properly about 2 years ago. It would only make about 70psi. The bore is scored, so obviously it ingested some sand or similar. I rebuilt it, and relocated it, and the intake will be moved inside the cabin.

An easy fix is to put 1/4" of closed cell foam on the tank. Generally good air circulation keeps condensation down. The only time you will see major condensation, is when you are filling the tank from a cool/cold source (underground supply) in hot humid weather.

If the fluid, including torque converter, have not been changed with the proper fluid, start there. The fluid needs a complete change every 50k max.
