    E350 Chinook Build

I used it once for pulling myself out, off a rather small tree too. And I’ve used it a handful of times pulling other rigs/cars out of situations. I try to use a snatch block when I can to keep stress off the winch. I would say it’s not 100% needed but it has come in handy. That and a set of...

Aftermarket wheels on Econoline Cutaway Dually

I swapped my factory steel wheels to 17” dodge dually wheels on my rig and had to open up the center bore. Super simple. I’ve also done it a bunch of times on wheels I’ve ran on cars in the past. ??

Making a B+ or C Class more capable.

Out west/mid-west most of the highways are 75-80 mph speed limits. Try going 55-60mph when the speed limit is 75-80mph, it gets scary haha. I was disappointed with my fuel economy in the beginning but it is what it is.

Making a B+ or C Class more capable.

Keep it 2wd, no need for 4x4. Between the size of a Class C limiting you to where you can go trail wise and the weight you’ll have on the rear axle for snow applications 4x4 imo is not needed on these bigger rigs and is a waste. Most rigs your looking for will be dually too so airing down gives...

VW LT MKI engine swap - anyone?

I would do a OM606 (or OM605) swap. Diesel, tons of power, reliable, can run a mechanical injection pump to simplify the wiring, and they are readily available for cheap!

    E350 Chinook Build

No we haven’t but we’ll put it on the list ?? We pulled ourselves away from the beach finally. Love camping on the beach but boy does stuff rust fast. Gonna spend a day cleaning the truck, re-painting some things and fluid filming everything again.

    E350 Chinook Build

Yea his setup was rad. Said the camper was a ‘66, same year he got drafted for Vietnam. Cool dude, I randomly bumped into him and bought a surf rod off him. Set me all up and told me the best fishing spots. Gave me his address to come stay at his place outside Austin too!

    E350 Chinook Build

Hell yeah! I love small cc bikes now. I went from riding big Harleys in my teens to smaller and smaller bIke’s over the years. They’re just more fun to ride. We haven’t used the stove much lately since we’ve been in 70-80 deg weather on the beach for that last couple weeks . Texas gulf is...

Advanced RV just raised the bar!

Middle age white dudes with no other hobbies trying to convince their wives they figured out how to have every creature comfort from the house in there rig so they’ll let them go play outside haha.

Advanced RV just raised the bar!

No I haven’t seen that thread, thanks! Although there’s not much info in the thread, more people arguing over if the system would be worth it or not haha. The system is relatively simple, but nice to see what others are doing for filters. Seems like everyone is doing the same basic filter setup.

That recirculating shower is cool, interesting he said 4gals stays clean for a while. I was planning a 10gal system. ?

    E350 Chinook Build

??? No thread as there’s not much to these things haha. Bought all my parts mostly from CHP Motorsports. Biggest mod I did was converting the coveted H model (4-speed with a manual clutch) to a semi-auto clutch using a 3-speed case. It rips pretty good with two. I have a set of buddy pegs to...

    E350 Chinook Build

Yup tapped right into the rigs propane system. Used it up in Taos last week when a cold front came thru and nights were in the teens and it’s snowed about 8”. Ran it for 3 days straight keep the rig comfortable the whole time. Still need to test it more but I think it’s going to work out great.

    E350 Chinook Build

Yup! I thought it was bad before on how many people would stop me to talk about the rig at the gas station/store or anywhere we stopped really. Now it’s even worse with this little guy on the front haha. It’s fun to hear older guys reminisce on how they had one or new a kid on their block with...

    E350 Chinook Build

Still on the road exploring the country. Modified some things in the camper to accommodate a new stove and some extra storage. Got caught up in 6” of snow Taos NM last week so we booked it south. Probably spend the winter on the gulf ?

We’ve spent the late spring/summer in that area too! Montana is my favorite place to spend the summer months. Idaho is a close second.
