Generally back spacing, wheel and tire width affect fitment more than height alone. If you're pushing the tires out and increasing scrub radius you're more likely to rub during compression, especially while turning. A "lift" (taller coils without drop brackets) is going to compress the same...
Good luck with the sale. Unfortunately it's just in the wrong part of the country. I'm sure it would have sold here several times over again.
If the side dinette worked better for me I'd be tempted to pick it up myself.
I saw the eagle, but I'm still waiting for our house to sell and close on the other before I can do anything. More than likely we'll order a new fleet with forward dinette. You lose the under couch storage but for us it was a lot more comfortable than a side dinette, and we liked the layout...
Once again, great looking setup. The fitment of the finch and eagle is just right.
After a 5 week trip in the jeep with the Ursa Minor top, I significantly cut back on what I carry with me too. But then we had a daughter and I couldn't figure out how to do it comfortably with such little...
This. I had my km2s siped 1/4" by 1/4" on the center tread blocks. They worked great on ice, snow covered roads and deep snow with ice on top on trails. Balancing was a pain but I'm not convinced that it wasn't an issue with an AEV wheel.
If you don't need a tire with a snowflake symbol for...
I don't understand the fascination with decked. It doesn't look like something you could drop off (in a parking lot?) and pick up later very easily. Essentially you are describing a slide in camper at this point if you plan to use it as a base camp?
In my opinion, your best bet is a quality...
Idaho is pretty central for long weekend trips. Close to Utah, Montana, Oregon ect. A day drive could put you at the Oregon coast or we'll into the parks of Utah. Houses in the Boise area are pretty cheap too!
I agree 100%. Some people don't get it. When you're driving up a pass at 8000'+ and you're nearly getting run over by truck/trailer combos it is unsafe. Or simply holding up lines of traffic on any significant hill. "It's a jeep not a race car" is a poor excuse. It is a modern vehicle and...
That looks like a great solution for something like a four wheel camper too!
Have you called or emailed them? Seems like the type of company that would do custom stuff to fit whatever size you wanted...?
If the suspension only compresses 1.5" under the vehicle's weight, you have too much preload on there too.
Only having 1.5" of droop from ride height is of course going to feel harsh as the shocks are going to hit their max extension over the smallest bumps. Bad rebound valving will made it...
Yes I did all of the work, aside from re-gearing the rear axle.
Unfortunately I probably won't have another build going on for a while. I have to payoff hospital bills, wife's car and misc debts, finish repairs on the house and put it on the market. We'll then be saving for a bigger house...
Well they should cut right through the standing water on the freeways in the NW at least. Great in light snow.
I wouldn't want something that narrow off road myself but I've seen 235s work way better than I expected off road too.
Looks wise I prefer the 265 over 235. The 235s look really skinny, the 265s look just right, even with a small lift. Height wise there is really no difference.
The 255 will give you a "little" more clearance but unless you're planning to re-gear, you're just killing performance.
Since...
It's not quite the same, but my 06 f150 felt huge on trails in the northwest after having several ranger based vehicles.
The bigger rigs are taller and have less clearance. Look at dimensions of campers too. Compare a hawk to an eagle or fleet.
I thought about a tundra with 2" lift, 285s...
