This article is a bit strange. We haven’t used copper based paints for quite some time now. The term plastic classic for old glass boats was just a term used much like woody. Micro plastics are a very modern plastic and share nothing with glass cloth and epoxy resin. However!!! Yes there is a...
Seriously wait till March buy a boat. It still takes some skill to get places by boat. Kids and I were out chasing porpoises three days this week. I almost have my 11 yr old and 8 yr old trained as sailing crew to the point I can almost do foredeck (my racing boat spot). The 11 yr old is a...
I just replaced my 1986 Avon Redcrest inflatable with a WestMarine 310 inflatable $1000. Its big enough and stable enough 2 people could adventure a large lake over night etc. Probably bigger than you want regarding storage. Go with a 8ft vs the 10ft 310 model. Much smaller to store.
I have come across some Sequoias that look good but fail inspection due to no frame left from rust. Don’t buy a Old Sequoia without having the frame inspected
23-24mpg is in 2wd eco mode and hyper mile style on stock tires and tune. My 400hp stock Expedition does it, same driver. Same trips in my 4.7L Sequoia was typically 16mpg.
Neighbor has a heavy load pack, 36gallon tank, factory F150 3.5L with a fully loaded 4wheel camper full time on it. He does long trips CA MO and Wyoming he says 15-16mpg is typical for him. I had a 4runner, J80 and a Sequoia and now a Expedition and will tell you the Toyota trucks all suck...
Reformed former Toyota and Subaru snob here. You need to look at Ford. Honestly.
I sold my Subaru and my Toyotas after 25yrs of Toyota and 19yrs Subaru I have a Ford Fusion Energi 2015 with 70,000 miles zero issues looks and drives like its brand new 65mpg life time average. I picked up a 2019...
Youtube video trends come and go. People chase the idea they can make money off videos. The van life thing and the I live on a $100 sailboat homeless thing are both getting silly. The model is to tack a still pict of a bikini clad girl on the video post, show a other wise bunch of nothing...
I think your splitting hairs. Given actual produced power is never published ratings. Setup what you think will give you the power you need vs latitude and add or swap if needed.
My 285’s don’t do 285 on primo cool max solar days.
I’d skip the propane aspect. A $400 tiny gasser will run 20+ hrs on a tank. The propane run burns nearly 2-3 times as much and propane is typically harder to find and more expensive.
I see this as a wife accommodation while still maintaining some travel freedom. Given how much people are willing to spend on RVs right now just to have a non public bathroom its not far off base.
You must drive the Sequoia slow. My 07 with 100,000 mi on stock tires is 13-15 in town and typically 15-16 on road trips. 6 days at 45mph in Yellowstone I had 1 tank at 23mpg?. Have never seen 18mpg average tank except once with a tail wind flat country.
Yep same for vacation houses. Already seeing a tiny slip in spike prices, by April/May I hope to see 300k off the places I’m eyeing. I’ve bought every dip the last 3 major market crashes so far its been a money maker?
Same for Norcal, Oregon and Washington. Even my neighbor who is the poster boy of anti camping is currently piloting a RV in Oregon some place. Which is why my boat is seeing more use in a week than it has all of 2018. LoL
285’s are big thats what I ran on my stock J80. In that case they fit the truck and were about a 1mpg hit. A 4runner? Unless your going down rocky trails etc I don’t see any advantage on a tired 4runner. My new rig came stock with 285’s lol
