We can crib the broken engine mount with some wood. We have a can of brake cleaner, two packages of JB weld, and enough extra oil I think to make this work.

The passenger side engine mount is broken. Clutch line is severed down by the slave cylinder. Something inside the engine sounded not right. Dropped the oil pan and found a broken connecting rod and the crankshaft split in half. ?

Sucks a lot. Hopefully it's nothing big. Stranded in southern NY area. Got to a parking lot. Gonna make some soup and deal with it in the morning.

Uh oh. This is very much not good... Terrible vibrations and noises coming from engine. Also lost the clutch. Still "runs", got off the highway until we got stopped on a hill at a red light. There are good people out there!

Yea, that stuff is scary. We don't sleep with the heat on. Good call, when we get back, we'll install a combo smoke/co detector.

The first real night in the van was a success. This thing is awesome! Time for our first road trip. Just a mini one for the holidays. Loaded up the fridge with all kinds of goodies. Made some awesome food with even better friends! Still need to put the sink in, finish the plumbing, put the...

More work on the rear doors. Insulating them today. Did a layer of 1" foam and then 0.5" foam on top of that. We glued the foam to the inside of the door. Found ways to hold the foam against the door while we went and did other stuff. Foam board all in. All the remaining cracks we filled...

Winter is finally here. Time to insulate these back doors. Been pushing it off for way too long! We needed to make a wooden frame inside the door in order for the panelling to have something to screw to. So we had this old board laying around that we could use. Started ripping the board to...

Today its trim work with a purpose! So for the upper cabinet top supports, we need 1.75" tall. They don't make that size, so we need to make our own. We took a 1"x6" piece of pine with messed up splinters parts and ripped to length we needed. Then took some corner trim and cut one side down...

A bunch of goodies came in the mail. Other random projects done as well. All the solar panels are here! As well as charge controllers, inverter, fuse panels, switches, chargers, circuit breakers, etc. Thank you Cyber Monday sales! With all these electrical components, it's adding up to more...

The countertops were looking kind of dark and boring. Your body casts a shadow over the counter from the recessed lights. Hmmm, if only there was a way to remedy this... More light. Specifically, under cabinet lights! First we'll need to make light rails. Drilled and tapped them onto the...

Tools? Got to have tools! And tools need to be stored somewhere. I got this old toolbox out of the garbage many years ago. It's been in storage since then. It's big enough to store all kinds of stuff, but too big to carry around when filled. So it will make a great toolbox in the rig if we...

    Best Fridge

Yep, only adjustable feet on the front. But why do you need to adjust? It sits flat when the feet are screwed all the way up. There is no such thing as level when you're on 4 wheels! I just got my fridge in. Here is what I did: Got a thin piece of galvanized angle iron, happens that 2"x2"...

Fridge install time! Well, mostly. Some more holes in the side walls. This one was easy. No insulation behind it. Top vent in and done. We still need to source and install a bottom wall vent. We cut some foam board to size. And have an insulated, but vented area behind fridge. The blue...

Found a way to keep the futon all together. Made these cute little wooden handles. Screwed some studs into the plywood wall. And handle gets bolted on and hold futon up while driving. Rotate handle to release futon. Got some rock climbing anchors to install. These will make awesome...

    Which Inverter Brand and model?

I bought it direct from Renogy. I have a Npower XRP 1000w pure sine inverter in my truck. That has been great as well. No problems in last 5 years, it's just a bit small.

    Which Inverter Brand and model?

I just picked up a Renogy 2000w pure sine for my build. They had a 15% off cyber Monday sale or whatever. It was the older model so I got it even cheaper. Haven't used it yet, but it seems well built, has nice remote kit, and comes with the battery cables all crimped and ready to run it. But...
