    E350 Chinook Build

Quick update... Need to get everything back on the roof with the long weekend coming up and my eye on a couple motorcycles 6hrs away haha! Maxxfan is in, holes for the ****ty awning install are all epoxied up, and tv antenna ready to be installed. Waiting to caulk everything at once since a tube...

    E350 Chinook Build

Yes it's fiberglass. As for the roof rack I'm just using pipe rail fittings with 3m 5200 sealant and stainless screws into the roof like this. (Pictures of another Chinookers setup) I would assume you could do the same thing and just adjust the hight on both ends to accommodate the bow in the...

Been slowly collecting parts to overhaul the roof! That includes two new 100 watt solar panel's, new Maxxfan, brackets to build a roof rack, etc. Finally got around to stripping everything off the roof and will be preparing for painting the roof before everything goes back on. Well maybe...

    E350 Chinook Build

It drives really well, much smoother the stock! I haven't put any miles on yet with the new tires, need to get an alignment. Yea that's what I'm thinking, then I'll just run the generator when using the air.

    E350 Chinook Build

Question to anyone who is reading, about to build an onboard air system and wondering if I should power it off my coach battery or my house battery bank? Thoughts and suggestions?

    E350 Chinook Build

I will try to get some more interrior pictures for you when I get a chance to clean her up, she's a mess right now! Not exactly positive what's in between the two fiberglass walls. Just mounted a tv in the bed area, she's officially a Glamper now. Thanks!

    E350 Chinook Build

No, thats the reason I'm doing all this is to make it more capable off road. Not on yet, need to open the center bore up 3mm on the new wheels.

    E350 Chinook Build

I like it a lot! It drives way smoother then stock, takes bumps and rough roads like a Cadillac, and still goes down the highway at 80mph with ease. A few things I need to address like a good alignment once I get my new tires on and a small vibration/droning noise when over 80mph. I think the...

    E350 Chinook Build

Over the last month I have been trying to figure out what tires to get. That also had me looking into options for wheels as well. The options for wheels are slim and I didn't want anything other then a clean stock lookin wheel. I love the look of the 19.5 "big rig" style wheels but the tire...

Class C 4x4 to travel the western hemisphere- anyone done it?

I'd say a Chinook would be fine. I plan to take a similar trip soon in mine although I decided to leave it 2wd with a lift, locker, winch setup. I've drove x-country 3 times (16k miles) since I bought it in August and it has taken many dirt roads and off the beaten paths very well. It helps that...
