Not bad Jampatrol, thanks for the link to the article.
To add to it slightly;
The 160-series engines you mentioned but left out models on is the P40 and the L28. The P40 dates way back to the 50's or earlier, it is the grandfather of all Patrol inline-six engines. The L28, well that was...
I think that is a great list and just about what I would say. Except #2, I like my tire on the back of my truck but nothing else. Also can make for a great table on the backside of the tire carrier. #3 I would say goes both ways. #4 I think goes both ways. Some rear bumpers get out of hand with...
I believe he is referring to the 160-series Patrol or per-Y60/GQ's. That being 1980-87.
As far as the frame on those trucks. Extremely burly! I have cut one in half and there is a 3rd inner frame rail. These frame are super stout. But they have been known to tear leaf spring mounts.
I don't...
No plans for a lathe in the foreseeable future. Just a new drill press and a 58" sand blast cabinet. I will just keep using Steve when I need machining done.
Took me nearly half the summer to get a turbo injection pump. Now two are in route to my shop. Figures.
At least I can say this truck...
Good break down. I have had an 03 Taco built up a lot. S/C, 7th injector, ect ect ect. I drove it 25,000 miles through Latin America on two trips.
Right now I drive a 91 Cruiser that is built up a lot.
I liked the Taco, it was pretty darn reliable. But way to small and way to low of a GVW. I...
KM2's will be fairly fast to wear, Coopers will wear slow and last a long time. The KM2s will be a bit better off-road, probably only noticeable in the rocks though.
I have had the Cooper STT on my Cruiser for nearly a year now. Good tire but they are a bit loud and in snow/ice not so great...
Hey you want to help me out then!? :)
I used Nissanparts.cc online and as you can read no dice for taking my money and giving me parts. I have all the part numbers and the most recent updated ones. I have a few things I would love a guy at Nissan to check on for me.
Cheers
True enough and I know I could totally get away with owning it and driving it for years here where I live with zero problems. Not going to do it though, 25yrs on an import or no dice for me.
Cheers
Well, Nissan canceled my HUGE order a few weeks ago. Not a single part shipped to me out of nearly a $4k order. Kind of bugs me because I know they at least have some of the parts I tried to order, how do I know!? Because I just bought them from Amayama recently. So ****** Nissan, don't want my...
Bump
This thing is still available and been sitting in my yard for some time now. A guy on facebook recently posted he has a JDM motor for it for $700.
It needs a new home, can be fixed up easily. Can be had for dirt cheap. Come on, somebody out there wants this thing, it is super rare!
Oh...
So I was running 35's on wide alloy wheels. Crappy 35's mind you. I replaced them with new 35's on narrower alloy wheels. Braking got worse. I didn't increase tire size. However, the tires I did buy are heavy, much heavier then what I had.
Cheers
You can drive on 37's just like 31's if the truck is set up right. The only difference you might notice would be in braking. It is all about castor and when lifting an 80 castor goes way out fast. I am running 4" of lift and 35's, which by the way the 35's often look small to me. I think 37's...
That is a federal thing generally encountered when importing. Most DMV employees don't know anything about this. If it has a previous title, like this one has a Florida title, other then a vin inspection by the police you simply walk in and get the title in our name. Although they might be a...
