    80 Series vs. 4th Gen 4Runner. Thoughts?

I think you should try and swap your 80 with a buddies 4R for a week and then decide.

    Buying in CA?????

I do not think this is correct. If you buy it and drive it/transport it directly out of state, you will not owe CA any taxes. Taxes will be paid to your own State, if applicable. Just be sure to have original title, last registration card, bill of sale and anything else your State requires. I...

    100 Series master cylinder..yikes!

Yes, that would be the same part number I got... and I believe it is for 98-07. But I would still double check with one of the Toyota Parts Gurus.

Don't worry. I'm pretty sure that is a joke.

    100 Series master cylinder..yikes!

I dug a little deeper and there is an OEM master cylinder overhaul kit. $50.

    100 Series master cylinder..yikes!

Like Christo said, the reason it is so expensive is because you are buying everything. The 100 has a hydraulic brake booster with an accumulator that stores pressure and an electric pump that builds pressure. It also has bunch of electronics on it which I think are the ABS solenoids. And then it...

    100 series factory Aux tank

Not a carriage bolt, just a regular bolt with a hex head. The strips of metal are about 1cm wide and 2-3mm thick and seem to work well enough to get the nuts torqued down. I used 6-8 of them and none broke off. As for dealer installed subtanks, I have an idea of how they might get the backing...

    100 series factory Aux tank

Here's how my tank was installed. A long metal strip/rod welded to a bolt, fed in through one of the rectangular holes in the frame. Sounds a little hokey but it is stronger than using rivnuts.

Expo, you may want to double check that. Back then, the exchange rate was in our favor at $1AUS to $0.62US dollar. Now it is closer to 1:1 and so it has gotten much worse for us.

? Happy with 24V AIR Compressor after...

I have not had a chance to mount mine yet but I can tell you it runs on 12 and 24V. It is heavy, loud, gets hot and draws a lot of current. In return, it is very fast. HP1000 http://www.parksoffroad.com/prodreview/inflatortest/oasis/oasis.htm The numbers here were measured at 12V. It is much...

    100 series factory Aux tank

Ah, good to know. I have the same dual filler as Spresso but am on the lookout for the flapper/gated style since the smog techs don't like the lack of restrictor (leaded fuel).

Doh... missed it the first time!:smilies27 FWIW, Camping Labs has the entire Front Runner set-up for $700 shipped. That is a good deal.

Spresso, on the second diagram you posted, do you have Type A or Type B of the filler necks?

    100 series factory Aux tank

This picture if from bajaoverland's site. But I don't know if the labeling is correct. Rosco, by flapper valve, I mean there is a valve inside that diverts fuel to one side or the other.

    100 series factory Aux tank

I do not know for sure but I "think" it is the 105's that have the flapper valve. For new, I'd go with who Spresso recommended. For used and locally, I would try www.man-a-fre.com/ since they have gotten them in the past. If you want it even cheaper and willing to work for it...

    100 series factory Aux tank

Yes, like you said, there are two styles. Fuel pumps flow much faster than 6GPH. The excess fuel just returns via a return line back to the tank. So your fuel is constantly going back and forth from the tank to the fuel rail/regulator and back to the tank. Most fuel pumps range from 30-100...
