My gauges show about 71PSI at all 4 corners when the camper is on. This of course changes as I drive because the computer keeps the truck at a certain ride height. I have 3 pre set ride heights. I run in the middle one. Then one high and one low for loading/unloading.
I have 60 inch CA. My bed is 9feet 4 inches long. I can get camper slid forward until I am close to my gray drain pipe hitting bed. This leaves a 6.25 inch gap from the front of the bumper stops built in from Host and the front of the bed. Bumper stops are 2 inches long. So gap is 8.25...
I will get a measurement tonight. Yes 2x4 was installed by the bed people. I don't know if it was needed, but it did raise the bed another 1.5 inches. Not really an issue for me.
Here are a couple pics of my C&C's. First id a 2021 Ram 5500 I ordered with 60 inch CA and dual tanks. Second is 2018 Ram 5500 with 84 CA I put a switch N go bed on. I can have dump or flat bed.
I ordered new. Ram 5500 and Host Cascade with flat bed. Also had front and rear Kelderman 4 link air ride put on. 3 pre set ride heights and I can level from inside the camper.
I'm sure this rig is not right for everybody. But it works very well for us. Our goal is to travel comfortably and to get out and see and do new things. We live on 50 acres outside of a very small town(less than 1200 people). Our nearest neighbor is a 1/2 mile away and they are great...
I got the host because I had a mammoth before and liked the quality. It carries 65 gal of water, 32 gray, and 32 black. Lots of storage, electric fireplace and AC. Fully self contained. We got the convection microwave and the propane cook top with propane oven. My wife loves a gas cook...
I ordered both of these back in Feb 21, they both came in about a week apart in late april. I have another 5500 with a switch N go bed system on it. I use the dump bed or the flatbed. I also had a 5500 with another Host on it and pic are still on this board. I picked up the truck and got...
Maybe more HD than you want but I just bought this. I also added a full Kelderman 4 link air ride with a 3H controller. It is a game changing mod. Front and rear ride so nice when empty. This is a pic at the Kelderman factory where it was all installed. Skirted bed is from CM.
Thats awesome. I have the air lift 3H system from Kelderman on mine. Does a great job. You have an awesome build going here. I have enjoyed following it.
LOL, Ram 5500 with Host. The JLR is set up for camping also with a ARB fridge in the back and dual batteries and a winch. Also tent, recovery gear and other items we might need. We flat tow it behind either one.
It seems like the biggest problem is being comfortable in whatever the weather throws at you. Maybe an RV would be a consideration. My wife and I had the same issue 28 years ago when our first child showed up. New borns and tents are tough on a 3k mile trip out west. We have had 11 RV's and...
My 2022 Host will slide on 8 feet 9 inches on my CM SK steel bed on my 2021 Ram 5500. The dump valve for the gray water and the gray water pipe are the only things keeping me from putting it on all the way. It's not an issue for me but I thought about moving them. Good luck with your project.
