We just got back from RMOR. What an incredible time! I'll get some pics up asap but first have to clean up the trailer, load pics and video up from my iPhone, and relax a bit.
Hey Stuckincity mud, welcome to the club! If you look at a pic of the trailer from the side you’ll notice that the wheels set pretty far back on the trailer. Mark climbs in and out of the trailer all the time without any issues while building it. Nanc and I have a driveway that slants...
Hey Waggoner, look me up Thursday afternoon. We’re camping somewhere around Montrose on Wednesday, maybe the Umcompadre Plateau. Want to hit the Black Canyon of the Gunnison before arriving at RMOR on Thursday. We lived in Montrose back in ‘77-78 when I worked for the BLM. I did a lot of dirt...
After a soggy time at BCOR we camped for a couple of night at our "secret" USFS campground. My son and I found this site 3-4 years ago. Brought wife and daughter-in-law with this time. We've had this incredible location all to ourselves both times! Don't ask...
My son, with some judicious...
The old fart in his natural element. Very manly indeed. Missing one glasses lens due to recent eye surgery. Brace on leg due to wearing the old body out. Probably will have that knee replaced soon. Indian Paintbrush is my favorite summertime flower. We were surrounded by them in this campsite...
Here is a better pic to give some perspective to the size of the trailer versus my 5th gen 4Runner. I didn't get a chance to weight the trailer fully loaded with supplies, clothing, water, etc., but guess it is tipping 3,000+ lbs. loaded. Tows beautifully, potholed trails no issues whatsoever.
Just got back from a week long trip with the trailer. First, up to BCOR then a couple of nights in the east slope of the Cascades. Beastie worked perfectly. Only one issue; the dog hogged the two person sleeping bag every night.
I forgot two D-cell batteries so couldn't use the hot shower...
We’re not vendors at BCOR so look for us in the camping section. Two trailer
S and a yellow Redvertz tent. Happy to chat with you !
BTW, really miss that Capitan America BMW F650 GS. Like I say about all my bikes, I should have never sold it. :(
Just got back from the NWOR rally. We had so much fun I barely got any pics of the trailer or the event. The trailer worked out perfectly. Sleeping, cooking, washing, overall camping was a delight. Can't wait to get up to BCOR next weekend with wifey and family.
We caravaned over from...
We took our new trailer to NWOR this past weekend. What a great experience! Ran into many old friends and made a bunch of new ones too. These are still pretty intimate events where you can spend lots of time one on one with the vendors and really get to know them and their love of their...
Chris,
A bit off topic here but loved the couple of videos I’ve watched so far. Wifey wants to know who the singer was in the Grand Canyon video and the name of the song. Also what time of the year were you two in Bryce Canyon? Depending on time and length of recovery for knee replacement...
The Darche awning gives an incredible amount of shade and shelter. I haven't even tried to install the three sides for it yet, but will soon. The awning is really well made and I expect years of service from it. The storage bag is terrible! Too tight with a zipper I am constantly afraid of...
