look close at the chassis..... engine size etc. and find what it's equivalence is for that year (ford E250?). That is what you use.... It is a "Ford Ex50 with a box". DO NOT SAY AMBULANCE.... ever. Its a box with lot of exterior storage. If they want more detail... "its just an Ex50 with a...
if not done already.... add 4wd and a selectable front locker.... then..... sneak in a trailer axle (no suspension?) tucked at the rear most part of the chassis with small trailer tires on it tucked up off the ground... when you expect you will drag your ******** end.... offroad....... put in 4wd...
the engine will act somewhat as a structural member in the front of any vehicle and am sure the engineers take that into account.
the mention of air ride mostly as a side note...... their are pickups with cush air ride cabs though.
and a typical chassis is designed to have less flex in cab portion of the vehicle. In larger rigs though.... the cab is actually a captured spring mount system. sold mount in front.... with springs (air ride cab shocks or shock absorbers) at back of cab.
but otherwise... yes there is a manufactured mount system for liquid haulage tanks that mount to trucks in same manner (captured spring front..... solid rear). I've linked it in here somewhere..... more than once actually.
someone once mentioned "Gold" spring rate from McMaster Carr...... but I never could find such an animal there. Your mention of "Die Springs" let me about right to them.. sweeet. (see "color coded die springs link".. on this McMaster Carr page )
want something similar in size to opening photo....... go larger ambulance.... and convert that. 4x4 ambos are out there too. Safe, strong as any massively high dollar expedition truck, cut a wedge off the rear box from tires to floor of box to improve rear departure angle (same way done...
Much thank you for this info. This is much like what I was thinking.... though didn't think about leaving the side open for debris to exit. Maybe only a side wall where the hose is? or holes in side wall... hmm.....
I see I missed posting in here that over Christmas Break got some of the floor Rusty metal replaced..... lots of hour$ into it and unfortunatly while leaving cab in the shop tilted up over night...... the windshield decide to start slipping out.. grrrr
Floor pan is Galvanized... not finished...
Did a pretty global search but am sure I missed awesome threads on this.... if you happen to know of one..... pass on link..
ok.... I want to make myself some CTIS protectors .... closest cousin to my design idea for these would be Rock Rings.. or Bead Protectors orrr one of those various...

I'd create a shield to sit behind that. say a fold up double walled (air space between) piece of tin or aluminum. Maybe a ductwork place can bend you up each wall halfs easily and you can just pop rivet it together if it saves you a good bit of coinage over there spot welding it all together...
