If i went with a larger than factory tire, I think regearing would be necessary. When the truck is loaded (6,000lb), you can definitely feel the weight, especially at elevation.

Seems like the CATs are a common problem long term. All in all it looks like you've had a reliable truck so far.

Very happy with the setup thus far.Talked to Chris at Heftyfabworks today, he's shipping out my new fuel/Hi-lift carrier. Going to be able to hold 10 gallons, as opposed to 5, and have a vertical Hi-lift mount. I am impressed with how quite and solid the rear bumper setup is.

I've been very happy thus far with the ST Maxx. They are heavy, produce lug slap around corners, and do hum a little. With that said, they are far more aggressive than a true all terrian. If your priority is a tough tire that will get you to the trail, they are tough to beat, I've tried them all.

I had 3 1st Gen Tacoma's including a 2000 Reg Cab. Loved that truck! 4:11 gears, manual hubs, perfect size. Wheeled the crap out of it. Great truck.
