Thanks for sharing. The Frontier received the benefit of its bigger brother getting the Alpha platform, since it was easier and more cost effective to just use the same frame across the line. I've heard all the same arguments before, for and against. I'm by know means knocking the Tacoma, I've...
What I like: Interior, 8.75" axle for TRD, Long bed with TRD!!, Exterior
What I don't like: Drum brakes, C channel frame, crawl control
Please truck Gods at least keep one vehicle in this technological day and age simple enough that **** doesn't break after 8 or 10 years and cost an arm and a...
Truck Update: I've had enough wheel time, and off road trips thus far to be able to give a first hand experience on how all the modifications are preforming.
32,500 miles
Suspension: OME HD All Around - The suspension is far superior to the factory set-up. The springs handle weight perfectly...
In the heart of the Sawatch Range
This is one of the greatest off road trails in Colorado. FS 277 takes you almost to the top of Mt Antero, which is a 14er in the Sawatch Mt Range. At its highest point the trail hits 13,800ft, and then FS 278 drops you into Browns Lake. The trail into Browns...
Trucks coming together nicely, unfortunately, as you know, it never ends! Quick question, how are your sway bar end-links holding up? How many miles on your truck?
Removed the sway bar which took care of the noise, and the ride is much improved. I think the HD springs prevent to much body roll, I will get the PRG links and put the sway bar back on when they arrive.
Now the problem has been diagnosed on to the solution, PRG sway bar end links. When the truck gets lifted more strain is placed on the sway bar at full articulation. The PRG links are adjustable and can compensate for a small amount of lift. In my case about 1.5'. So I tried to contact them but...
I just called the dealer, they want $140 to just look at it, no thank you. So I called a Nissan specialist in town, they want $55 to diagnose the problem, much better. I then called my buddy, who wants zero dollars to figure it out, much better!
Thanks for the feed back guys. The sticking caliper might be an issue along with other things. Because it pops as soon as the truck starts to roll out of the garage on a flat surface as soon as the wheel start to turn, it seems that could only be a sticking brake caliper, since there is no...
I've had this noise since the truck was new, but it has gotten progressively worse recently. I've researched and this seems like a very common issue in Frontiers. It seems like lifting the truck exasperates the problem. I've read that Nissan says inner tie rod end binding. As soon as I let of...
There is a significant difference in the characteristics of the tires. The Coopers are heavy and you can feel it, you get lug slap going around corners because of the large spacing between the outside lugs, there is no question that they are louder than your traditional all-terrain, and because...
