It was around this point we noticed the snow conditions changing as the heat of the day was starting to bring more grip to the snow. It was transitioning from cold, light, fluffy powder to a more wet "snowball" mix. The light powder is awesome, but it doesnt allow much for grip...
Just posted this over on T4R.org however I thought I would share over here as well. Ignore the @usernames...
Now it's my turn for a photo dump. I thought I'd try doing a more "narrative" approach to our run yesterday as I kind of enjoy it sometimes...and I wouldn't want all of my University...
Thanks! I had to throw something out there after seeing all your adventure photos!
Thanks for the kind words... I like to think my new camera plays a big part. haha And yes, Canada is absolutely gorgeous.
One day we will meet up my friend, one day!
lol, Everywhere I post this photo I get...
FWIW The Tundra Bilstein 5100's have 5 adjustment perches vs. the Toytec 5100's with 3. Sonoran Steel uses the exact same (or very similar) Bilstein struts in their 1.2 lift kit (which is a SWEET kit...http://www.sonoransteel.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2_3&products_id=1)

No problem! The "LC Coils" are FRONT 80-Series Landcruiser coils that we put in the rear of our 4Runner's for lift. There are three different variations 7-8-9 wraps each with a different spring rate and length. The "9-wraps" being the tallest and softest I believe... they are def. the tallest...
FWIW - I came from an OME setup on my 4Runner and switched to the Bilstein Tundra/TRD setup. I really like the 881 coils up front on my OME and was getting about 1.75-2" of lift without a bumper or anything. The Bilstein/Tundra combo is very similar IMO but gives you the option to lift higher if...
Nice to see all the maintenance items showing up before mods - that's the proper way to do it! Seeing all your parts is very reminiscent of my own build when I got it, I did all the same maintenance immediately and it's proven to be an awesome decision. My Runner has NEVER let me down other than...
Very nice build. Totally tailored to your uses and super functional, and it looks awesome to top it all off!
BTW, I'm running the same sleeping bags in the LONG format for my 6'6" frame. They are really nice bags at a reasonable price and I even like the iphone/mp3 pocket on the inside. Funny...
I'm running the TRD/Tundra Bilstein setup with LC coils. I absolutely love it.
Ran OME before this - pretty much hated it. Depends on yours needs though. Check out this thread I've creating and been fine tuning with updated info and comparison on the two setups mentioned above...
Thanks for the kind words! Hope my build thread helps you a lot.
The 265/75/16 is a roughly a (32"x10.5") tire. Once you lift, you'll probably be looking at a 255/85/16 (33"x10") which is a popular tire around here in the Expo crowd, or the slightly shorter but wider 285/75/16 (33"x11.5"). I...
Great rack build! I can't say that I've ever seen a rack with the pivoting light mounts. Pretty awesome creation. Thanks for sharing - it's giving me some bad ideas!
Like I already mentioned, VERY nice rig Mason!
Glad you showed some patience and waited for "the one". It's not always easy to not let your frustration or impatience in finding an older used vehicle, get the better of you. You scored a gem!
I look forward to the build and subsequent photos...
Recent snowstorm blowing through Southern Alberta. Going to make the trails interesting when I get out to the mountains on the 27th.
