    Is my Jeep too heavy?

I was looking at that one. Interesting idea. I still like the proven four wheel camper popup roof on a short height box trailer. Easy enough to have a insulated inside section.

    T-slot compatible boat carriers?

The OB tows the 4x6 well 900lb empty probably 1300-1400 loaded really well. My 1800lb boat was clearly flat land trips only but 1400lbs is a non issue. The main issue is suspension my OB is the 2010 which had super soft squishy suspension to start with. 2015’s and newer got better suspension but...

    Nobo 10.6 vs InTech explore

Raw exposed wood dries out easy enough I’ve had several of those. When they get “covered” and don’t dry out is when they go soft. I would bet the edges are exposed unsealed ply add the sealed bottom and top and its just a matter of time. Especially if parked out in the elements. I felt that...

    Is my Jeep too heavy?

GNP is on our bucket list. We have an old family friend that owns a huge ranch that backs up to it. We would probably just stay at his place for GNP. But you can’t make that trip and not explore further. Ideally I would want to see Banff area on that trip also. Yeah I like some aspects of the...

    T-slot compatible boat carriers?

Nice boat?. I really want to build a stitch and glue. Candlefish13. Or PT 11 We just did 12 day Zion,Bryce, Capitol Reef Moab, Arches, Canyon Lands, Dead Horse and North Rim. Used the old 06 Sequoia and our 4x6 Original Lifetime tent trailer. Yesterday my wife just told me to get our...

    Dreadlocks outfitting of InTech Discover

Yeah most of my camping as s kid was back country backpacking with a tarp. Bears were a common experience. But they weren’t annoying park bears lol. Yeah the camping restrictions in Yellowstone was our first experience with the tent limitations. 9 days base camped in Madison was fine. Though I...

    Dreadlocks outfitting of InTech Discover

Wow lots of good ideas? I really like the Explore. But I have a 8 and 10 yr old. And most of our NP trips in the future are Grizzly and colder temp parks. I’m seriously thinking of doing a custom trailer loosely based on the Explore. 6ftish wide -13-14ft long about the same height as the...

    T-slot compatible boat carriers?

Grind down a bolt to fit the slot. Though canoes are the easiest to haul given they lay flat on their rails. Just strap it down and go no fancy clips needed for canoes. My OB only works for us family of 4 when doing short light trips. Probably my biggest negative is payload isn’t high enough...

    Is my Jeep too heavy?

Yikes though we would likely base camp outside and drive in.

    Why are Sequoia's not included?

Precisely why I still have my 06. Oh and the 2nd gen got too wide. Can hardly fit my 1st gen in the city parking lots. The good news is the new 2020 Ford Explorer is nearly identical in size. Granted it’s a soft awd rig not a 4x4 like the Sequoia. But I’m only replacing the Sequoia with a plugin...

Is Mountain Biking the Biggest Threat to New Wilderness Designations?

Dixie National Forest is massive! The number of free range cattle is impressive! Hikers and bikers got nothing on cows. I haven’t had so much cow ******** on my truck since I worked on a cattle ranch. And I was just driving a major scenic route between Bryce and Capitol Reef. That was two weeks...

    Is my Jeep too heavy?

Even if your not doing hard core rock crawling trails and just National Parks with the family base camping with trailer is what works best for us also. But I’ll never own a dedicated RV trailer. My utility trailer with a tent on it gets used as a utility trailer more than a camping trailer. If...

    Is my Jeep too heavy?

I feel like this thread should be required reading material for any camping family with any vehicle. Many of the things discussed are things I’ve done on my Subaru Outback to keep us in the acceptable handling and load range. We 2kids and 2 parents just did 12day Zion,Bryce,Capitol Reef, Arches...

    Nobo 10.6 vs InTech explore

Intech I think is using ply flooring. And at leadt one owner has had a soft floor near the rear doors. I’m thinking eventually I’ll just get a custom build. I like this guys trailer design. https://www.weeroll.com/

    Nobo 10.6 vs InTech explore

Like many here I go around and around trying to figure out the best rig for our needs. The early small VRVs I thought were brilliant. But of course they morphed into giant 5thwheels or sand dune side by side atv rigs. The Intech was back to the brilliant idea but with the modern slide out...

2004 Sequoia (Project Baby Panda) - Adventure and Build Page

My 06 just rolled 100k. LOL Bought it in 2011 sold my cherry 93 J80 needed more space and more modern rig. Only oddity was the rear drive line the yoke had slop in it causing a high frequency vibration at 68-73mph. Finally replaced the drive line new built one out of Texas $460! Wow soooooo much...

    Nobo 10.6 vs InTech explore

This is great thread. Lots of discussion around the issues that us Dads that want bunks for 4, and secure storage. My dream rig would be the Max Flyer, double rear doors, one fold out side bunk, side door, the slide out kitchen. All sounds normal right? Here’s the biggie!! A full roof panel pop...
