    Roof campers? Please explain

The material my CVT Mt. Baker is made does not absorb much, if any, water. An hour of non-rain is usually enough to thoroughly dry it out. If anything else is moist, like our duvet or sheets (from perspiration), I toss them loosely on top of our other gear and run the AC in the truck as we drive...

This is a deal, right? ARB 37-QT for $550 CAD

Don't know what we did wrong then: they charged our credit-card on June 26th and shipped the units on July 7th.

This is a deal, right? ARB 37-QT for $550 CAD

The fridge was delivered a few minutes after I was past the point of no return on my trip. Hopefully, I'll be testing it out this weekend. A.

    Power Management with Fridge

That makes a lot of sense, I will measure voltage in a couple of spots, today. I actually received the fridge Friday, about 10 minutes after I was too far along my long-weekend route for it to be worthwhile turning back. But I should be able to test everything this weekend. Thanks for...

Try NorthStar, also. Same tech, usually cheaper. A.

    Power Management with Fridge

ARB's controller should turn the fridge off at 11.8V: That seems rather extremely low for their "high" setting. Unless my understanding of batteries is way off. So, should running the engine for 20 minutes at 1000 RPM fully recharge the battery? NSB-AGM-35 Thanks, A.

    Power Management with Fridge

Thanks, I'll do exactly that. That's an option which, as you point out, I'm already equipped for. Thanks for the input! A.

    Power Management with Fridge

I'm running a Norstar AGM, which is basically an Odyssey, and doesn't mind deep cycling at all. Looking for the short-term solution, here. Long term I will get a dual-battery system installed and a solar panel to help it along. Thanks, A.

This is a deal, right? ARB 37-QT for $550 CAD

Well, actually getting the item to me is proving difficult. Paid for the order on June 20th and it looks to be arriving tomorrow. New summer staff, UPS mixup, delays, etc. Since they don't really answer the phone, the email back and forth can be rather inefficient. I'm leaving for a 4-night...

    Power Management with Fridge

My 37-qt ARB fridge/freezer should arrive tomorrow! :wings: Now, on a trip where I intend to be stationary for about 3 full days, how should I manage my battery? I have a single Norstar (read Odyssey) AGM as my starting battery; I carry a fully charged spare battery (not connected); 1996...

Anyone else make something similar to the ARB solution (for the 80)?

    ARB Outback Solutions cost?

I slept in my rig a few times when I first bought it, but we switched to the roof tent pretty quickly. If your cargo barrier goes from roof to the top of the seats, I guess you could still sleep under it. But having a full barrier means that, with the truck fully loaded, I could use the...

    ARB Outback Solutions cost?

What are your thoughts on that? Why is it only 1 in 10? I am waiting for my 37-qt ARB fridge to arrive, this week. So storage is suddenly more important for me. I believe that the cargo barrier and top-shelf are very important in order to maximize the useable space. Everything lightweight goes...

    ARB Outback Solutions cost?

Thank you! So, the verdict is almost $3000. Eventually found this document: http://www.arbusa.com/uploads/pdf/newproductadvice/arb_drawersystems_pr_retail.pdf Has all the part numbers in it, along with MSRP. A.

    ARB Outback Solutions cost?

Mind letting us know what the total cost was? Even better if you have the list of part numbers or an invoice. :) Thanks, A.

    Roof campers? Please explain

Depends on the type of RTT: hard shell fibreglass models will handle temperatures differently than the classic safari-style models. In my case, with a "wedge" fibreglass model, I can park nose into the weather and have really incredible protection with no flapping at all. I use a 3-candle UCO...

    Man-Powered Recovery

The Humvee was buried in sand to pas the hubs. I will look for that manual, thanks. I was looking for how to calculate the required manpower.

    Roof campers? Please explain

I've camped in everything from blizzards to hot beach weather. Tent works for all of those. I am able to drive into shade, and even relocate without "packing up" if a site proves too hot.

    ARB Outback Solutions cost?

The biggest reason for my original question was to know how they compared to the TrekboxX solution in waiting time and cost. :)
