My usual trips consist of 300-400 km of pavement, 200 km of quality dirt road, 100-200 km of terrible, washboarded, pot-holed dirt road and then a final 20-30 km of track with maybe a last KM of real off-road.

We used a pair of really wide MEC self-inflating pads that velcro together. They don't quite fit between the wheel wells, but the couple inches that end up sort of going up the side keep it comfortable.

Wow, and I thought our fuel was expensive in Canada. Diesel is $1.23 AUD/$1.30 CAD per litre here, at the moment.
